The staff at the Barchetta couldn't be anymore helpful or anymore pleasant, however our room could have been more quiet. Our room was a good size for a European hotel as well as the generous size bathroom and sizable shower/ tub. I certainly can not fault the hotel for anything except our location of our room. We had a secondary road behind us where every night we could hear cars, vesbas, and streetlight people of all hours of the night. Not to mention the noise of the garbage trucks outside our window VERY EARLY IN THE MORNING. Sleeping in was impossible and trying to sleep at night was worse with the local late night Italians, tourists, and/or anyone having conversations in all languages, and all volumes, yelling, laughing and just enjoying themselves and their vino.
We asked kindly after our first night going through this experience, if the staff could change our room (due to the noise), but sadly they said the hotel as IN FULL CAPACITY and that there was no where else to put us. For 4 nights we put up with this. The hotel staff did not even try to comp out any meals, drinks, or help make our stay more pleasant in exchange for our sleepless nights.
I would stay in this hotel again (but not in any of the rooms that back up against the citi's back street), ally.
