This is a former monastery which has been converted to a hotel that caters for parties, weddings and conferences and run by a family that take pride in the place and who are great hosts. We had a two night mid week stay to break the journey on the drive from Switzerland to Lucca in Italy and this place was just perfect, peaceful and had everything in the room that was needed including a lovely view across farmland. We had dinner in the hotel the first evening which was just amazing. I had the most delicious rack of lamb with herb crust which was so tender it practically melted in my mouth while my wife had the risotto which she thoroughly enjoyed.
This building is steeped in history and has the original bell tower still in perfect working order together with lots of antiques and many other interesting features to numerous to mention. Breakfast on both mornings was excellent with a selection of yogurts, fruit, cereals, bred, cakes, cheese, Parma ham and a variety of cooked egg options. It is in a fantastic location about 10km from Parma and the airport perfect for a short break. Thanks again to TripAdvisor for another wonderful find.

The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The building, a former monastery, was quite beautiful and had an interesting history. The owners/managers were very pleasant and helpful. A well regarded restaurant on site served us a delicious dinner that evening and an excellent breakfast the next morning.

A late arrival of a ferry to Ancona meant that we couldn't get to Fontevivo till after midnight. We had been looking forward to our return visit to this sophisticated, informal hotel and to eating in their exceptional restaurant. Even at the late hour the owner was at the door to welcome us and a supper trolley of cold, local produce was served in our room. We can't praise this place enough.

I stayed one night. The hotel is a historic building and has been renewed and decorated with style. More than just a hotel as an experience with all the art and antiques around. The yard is beautiful and soothing, the dinner was amazing. You can go even for the just the food. Rooms are spacious, old, still have all modern facilities, bathroom is huge, has a water heater in the room with immediate hot water. Very reasonably priced. Staff is polite, helpful and smiling. I used to stay at an other hotel in Parma, but will consider Relais as my new "home" in Parma

This is an oasis of calm and beauty and I totally agree with the other reviews which rate the food as the best they have eaten. The region is renowned for its Parma ham and parmesan cheese but it tastes so much better than what we can get at home. The chef seems to bring out the best in the local produce and everything is delicious - washed down with some local Lambrusco wine. I recommend a short car trip into the hills, which are beautiful. Thank you for a memorable stay.
