By Italian standards this is a very good hotel (which corresponds with "average" in any other country). The breakfast is not much more than fruit and sandwich, but the elevators and A/C are functioning, the reception staff is polite, and there is a bar which works after hours - what else to ask for in Italy?

We stayed here for just a night while traveling through Bologna Italy. The grounds are beautifully kept and the hotel is very Elegant . It is very elegant yet comfortable .
The staff was helpful and they helped us change our room into 2 rooms for a good price when we arrived with my 1abd 4 year old grandchildren.
The hotel is not marketed for children but they had no problem accommodating us.
The room service was very good and quick. The prices were average.
The tv selection in the rooms was wonderful for an American and I really liked the shower/tub combo .
Will def make it a point to stay here again !

My wife and I stayed here for 2 days, the hotel staff were great, extremely friendly with fantastic English which helps as ashamedly my Italian is non existent. They were extremely patient showing us where the nearby local bus stop was so it was very easy to get into Bologna - and it only cost €1.50 per person each way so very cheap and easy to get around.

The room itself was fairly small and basic but it was fine for our purposes. The shower was in a fairly odd position which meant I kept standing on the plug hole which wasn't nice.

Breakfast buffet was good with a large selection of pastries, cereals, fruit, yogurts and some hot food. The freshly squeezed orange was delicious!

The pool area was ok, fairly small but this hotel is one of the few around Bologna to have a pool and some outdoor space like this.

The food in the main restaurant was good, though perhaps a little over priced when compared with the places you can eat in Bologna itself with few vegetarian options which meant there was only really one meal my pregnant wife could eat - she had pasta and the portion was fairly small - perhaps 5 pieces of tortellini and unfortunately she found a hair in her one which she left, she was brave enough to continue eating the others but didn't really have a choice as no-one came to ask how our meal was. When they came to clear the plates we pointed out the hair in the left piece of pasta expecting something to be taken off the bill, but when the bill came we were charged the full amount. I then asked for something to be taken off and they did then remove her main from the bill, however the sign of a great place is when this doesn't happen, or if it does, some form of compensation is done automatically.

All in all I'd recommend this hotel for a short stay or a business trip. There is not much to do around the area so any longer than a few days and you'll perhaps get tired of getting the bus each day to head into Bologna.

I would say my hotel rating is nearer good than average , based approx 5 mins from the centre of Bologna the Regency offers a good standard of accommodation & facilities. We stayed in the Black Suite which gives a good overall space comprising separate living room with patio doors leading out onto a balcony complete with hot tub, the bedroom is a good size with comfortable bed and an excellent wet room bathroom.

The hotel restaurant The Garganelli offers a good choice of food & drink and we had an enjoyable Dinner here during our stay.

The Hotel itself is looking just a little tired around the edges but overall if your looking for a good well priced Hotel away from the hustle & bustle of the centre than this would be a good option.

This hotel is on the outskirts of the city. It has lovely grounds and very pleasant front desk staff. Lots of free parking available. We did not do any sight seeing in Bologna, so I cannot say how far away any of the sights are. We used the location as a mid way rest and relaxation stop between Pisa and Venice.

The rooms are a good size, lovely and clean and have a very nice, modern bath. The linens were very nice. The rooms had nice big window, but screens would have been nice.

There was a nice pool and patio area-although the pool liner needed a little tlc and cleaning. The odd time you got a rather unpleasant sewer smell-the toilets were not far from the pool.

The restaurant setting was excellent. The male server who took our order was not very friendly, so dinner got started on a rather sour note. The other servers were ok although there was some disorganization as there was a different person for every little job in the restaurant. Dinner was very tasty and enjoyable.

The grounds looked great in the evening, with a fountain at the front and lots of interesting lighting.

Breakfast was good and there was a nice touch with fresh squeezed orange juice. An ice machine would have been a nice addition to the hotel.

There is a large shopping mall about a 5 minute drive from the hotel.

This hotel was the least expensive one we stayed in during 11 days in Italy. It has a luxury look and feel, but the price was excellent.

Room tip: Rooms looking at the front and back are equally lovely.
