A (low) entrance fee is payable - when we attended there were two guys on the tickets desk, whose English was very limited, but vastly superior to our command of Italian. When they found we were English they shook our hands and congratulated us on Brexit! They couldn't wait for the chance of a vote in Italy.
Wonderful paintings by well known Italian masters as well as some by names unknown to me. One of the mature lady curators even came over to point out some of the treasures - as well as dragging us to one of the windows - to make sure we enjoyed the view, looking out of the gallery!
Well worth the entrance fee.
