This is the proud boulevard that runs down through the Centro Storico from north to south. It’s lined with covered walkways on both sides, much like what you find in Turin, if you’ve been there before and have walked under theirs. All sorts of high-end and regular shopping, as well as plenty of interesting restaurants and cafes to consider.

Bologna’s Main Street linking central station to Piazza Maggiore...plenty of shops to choose from. Side street can be an option to find a place to eat.

Bologna is well known for its iconic covered street sidewalk arcades. Via dell'Indipendenza showcases these features, while also showing dazzling displays of Italian Architecture.

This is the main road linking the railway station to the central town square (Piazza Maggiore). Toward the town centre, some of the road is pedestrian access only, and along a lot of the route the pavement is under porticos. There are lots of shops and restaurants along the road, and a few decent hotels.

This is the city’s main street; running from Piazza Maggiore all the way to the central train station. It was completed in 1890. Today, it is also the main shopping street with many clothing stores, outdoor cafes, restaurants, cultural sights and more. The street is in a limited traffic area (ZTL) and sometimes is closed off to all traffic.
