Definitely an experience, very friendly English speaking waiting staff, we went for all four courses - antipasto, pasta, secondi and desert. The suckling pig for two was incredible but suggest you go hungry to this restaurant if you do all the courses. My pasta dish was noodles with broad beans, peas and cream and tasted delicious.

Nice place with a vintage atmosphere that is not created artificially. A bit cold, I almost put my coat back, and chairs are quite uncomfortable. The menu is quite extensive and includes traditional bolognese dishes but also fish based choices. The service is good. However the bill was quite disappointing. 25 euro for an entree that is fine but nothing special are unjustifiable. There are other restaurants in Bologna where you can eat well for much less.

Ok, it was inexpensive- just under 100€ for 2. It was strange, followed by bad food. The service was ok.
The person initially waiting on us - he appeared to be in charge (Owner?) gave us the menu verbally in heavily accented English. No prices mentioned. OK, we can live with that. He then followed quickly with recommending a local wine (a Sangiovese as it turned out). Best way I can describe is to imagine kook-aide with alcohol. We sent it back and asked for a wine list. The recommended bottle was the cheapest on the list (15€) and he was pushing it at everyone in the place who wasn’t Italian. Hard to grasp the logic there. Our second bottle, a Merlot, was 30€ And much better. Both came to the table already opened. Yeah, a first for me after years of fine dining.
One first course included lasagna and it was passable. The other was spaghetti with clams that had an overpowering fish smell and taste. Bad, really bad.
Mains were sea bass, which was mediocre and lamb shank. If the Shank were any tougher you could have driven nails with it. The table knife required a lot of work to cut through the thick crust and get at anything worthy of being consumed.
We declined desert so no happy ending.
Really disappointing as this was Trip Advisor’s third highest rated “fine dining” restaurant in Bologna. Not sure who would rate this place better than one star, but they are way wrong.

visto il suo zelo nel descrivere questa tremenda serata mi permetta di correggerla ,sia in italiano,sia in inglese.(ma questa volta in forma scritta, in modo da non risultarle così fastidioso da dover fare addirittura notare che un italiano parli senza accenti una lingua non sua).
-Il vino da noi proposto è un ottimo Sangiovese Superiore di MonticinoRosso che viene proposto quando il cliente chiede un vino locale, non è di certo come lo chiama lei uno sciroppo con l'alcool,lo si fa assaggiare e nel caso in cui non piaccia viene cambiato,come è stato nel suo caso.
Questo Sangiovese viene proposto perchè ,appunto, piace molto a tutti,non certo per "liquidare gli stranieri" come dice lei,come se a noi convenisse consigliare un vino poco costoso.
-Gli spaghetti vengono proposti con bottarga di muggine grattuggiata, mi spiace che lei non abbia capito cosa fosse,ma le era stato specificato al momento dell'ordinazione.
-Lo stinco d'agnello ha una cottura sous-vide della durata di 7-8 ore,quindi a bassa temperatura ed impossibile risulti duro come lei sostiene.
Abbiamo avuto l'impressione che la cattiva serata fosse la sua,vista la grande comunicazione che ha avuto coi suoi ospiti,capisco anche che il pomeriggio ci si possa annoiare ,ma magari prima di "giocare" con Tripadvisor sarebbe meglio sapere ciò che si dice,spero di esserle stato utile :) .

since you carried out the task of describing this dreadful evening out with plenty of zeal,
allow me to correct you ,both in italian and english languages. (the english form will be,luckily for you,written, in order to cause you no harm as pointed out by you claiming an italian-native person speaking with accents as unbelievable)
-We suggest the Sangiovese Superiore to the clients that ask about a local wine, it's not kool-aid with alcohol,mind you,it's our custom to let the customers try the suggested wine and to change it if not liked,as happened to you.
Again we often suggest this wine because it's usually liked all around, certainly not to earn less money,so I don't see your point here nor our bad faith.
-The clams spaghetti are ,as told you while ordering several times, with Bottarga shavings,Bottarga is pressed Tuna roe with a very strong and “fishy” smell, we're sorry you didn't catch this up.
-The lamb shank is cooked “sous-vide” so at low temperature in a vacuum bag ,underwater for 7-8 hours,so it's kinda impossible that it turned out tough as you claim.

We had the impression that the “bad evening”was all yours doing instead ,as the mood at the table suggested, we also understand that one can get bored in the afternoons and engaging in playing with Tripadvisor sounds tempting,but I think one should know facts before bad mouthing a Restaurant,hope things are cleared out :)

It is a couple of years since I last visited this restaurant with my husband but the memory is still vivid. Fantastic food and a great ambience. Having dined there a few times over the years it has always been the ultimate treat on a visit to Bologna. I highly recommend it.

This restaurant was one of the first dinning experiences we had in Bologna. What a great way to start and difficult to compete with! The service was professional and knowledgeable. Our meal included the Tagliatelle a Ragu - superb! Each table was filled and with each dish that was brought out we were wishing we could order it, also! Everything looked and smelled as good as our plates. Do not miss this restaurant!
