Owner description: Probably the most famous chapel in the world because of its incredible artwork, notably "The Last Judgment," Michelangelo's stunning fresco covering 10,000 square feet of the ceiling and wall.

If you do the Musei Vaticani, you will be able to see the Sistine Chapel at the very end of the tour. No words to describe the beautiful piece of history. Cannot take pictures here so not even try, guards will remind you very well. :)

Just amazing! I can’t say anything else. We spent here at least an hour. It’s part of Vatican Museum complex. Worth every second!

A wonderful sight to see but very surprising in the size of the chapel. It is so small and absolutely beautiful but also very small and with the amount of people in there it is very difficult to get an in depth look at the paintings and also you are not allowed to take photographs in there.

Recently visited the Sistine chapel as part of a tour of the Vatican. I can tell you its worth the wait and a treat for the eyes at the end of the Vatican tour. The whole room is painted and the very famous judgement day wall painted by Michelangelo is like nothing I have ever seen before! There is so much detail in the painting I was blown away! I would highly recommend a tour otherwise you will spend a good part of the day in a queue. The tour will also give you direct access to St Peters Basilica after the Sistine Chapel. Get it booked!

Buy your ticket online at the official Vatican website before leaving home. Get the 9 am (earliest) time for the museums, so you can zip in the group/online tour line to enter the museums. You'll walk down a long hall with various amazing artifacts, maps, and paintings but you can take the "short itinerary" route if you only want to see the Sistine Chapel. While crowded at 9:05 am, it was an absolute madhouse 30 minutes later. No photos and no talking inside. If you want to linger, the seats along the side open up as people move on.
