I was surprised that I enjoyed this gallery the most of all in Italy, including the Vatican museum and the Iffizzi in Florence. The rooms are well lit and the art is displayed the best. In particular you just can't miss the Bernini sculptures--they are the finest.

One word describes this place 'stunning'. Unfortunately I have to write a bit more. This is just a really worthwhile destination if you like renaissance sculpture particularly, It's a bit of a walk to get there through the park but well worth it. If it's hot take cold water and wear sensible shoes. Just great. The only thing is you will need to book tickets well in advance of your trip or you won't get in. You can collect at the venue but book early.

A visit to one of the most important and impressive private collections of classical art may not interest everyone, but I stress to anyone sitting on the fence of decision, take the plunge and go to see this stunning collection of fine art. I would be surprised if it does not capture your amazement and wonder, especially if you have the privilege of having a private tour guide with more than a little bit of knowledge and insight into the history of the place and it's collection. (Tancredi from DGS). With the tours limited to two hours per a limited number in each group, having a guide can only be an advantage, however, the experience of being in close proximity with such amazing art created by exceptional talent, makes any visit worthwhile. I would rather be captivated by being in the company of this art than being pushed around by a seething throng of i-phone wielding masses through structured tour paths of ancient ruins, none of which you can actually see properly or feel any atmosphere from. (the Pantheon is an exception, for the moment)

There is so much to see here it is pretty much overwhelming. The sculptures alone are worth the visit, and the paintings are also unbelievable. The range and quality of the sculptures was astounding. I must say that there were SO MANY paintings that the lighting placed a glare on almost all of them. Would have been better with fewer works placed in proper lighting. Do not miss the upstairs galleries.

It was so nice to get away from the buzz of this fantastic city. I didn't go into the galleria but spent some time in the beautiful park.
