Realizing the age of these structures is overwhelming. The cultural base of our modern civilization and government lies here. Lots of walking but well worth it.

I thoroughly enjoyed a stroll through the Forum. We didn't have a guide, but many of the areas had notices explaining what they had been used for.

I loved the forum and Paletine Hill. We had purchased a night tour of the colosseum which DID NOT include a ticket to the forum and Paletine. So we bought another ticket to those which included another ticket to the Colosseum as well, although we don’t intend to go. The ticket is good for 2 days! Well, we went into the forum. It’s a really hot day. So after finishing there we went back to hotel to change clothes and returned to Paletine to find out that you can’t re-enter! WHAT!! They did not tell us that when we exited. So we had to buy another ticket to get back in. I feel totally scammed!

But I can’t blame the sites themselves or I would give this a 1 Star. Both sites are beautiful!

The Roman Forum covers a huge area with seemingly endless remains of buildings. It's a fascinating place to explore but take your own refreshments as visitors do not appear to be catered for in any way. We had to cut our visit short and go out for food and drink as it was an extremely hot day. Very busy even in April.

Bought our combined Colusseum and Forum tickets through Tiqets online. No hassles and straight forward to do. Forum is a must see. Lots of walking but really really worth a visit! No street sellers here either!!!!
