We were made very welcome during our visit and the service was friendly and helpful throughout. It is a small, quiet hotel with clean, well furnished, comfortable rooms. There was a good selection for breakfast with a lovely quiche. If you like coffee avoid the filtered stuff on display and ask for Italian coffee which they will happily provide. It is located in a lovely neighbourhood out of town centre. Transport links are good with a bus stop about 20m from the door. Buses run about every 15 min and stop at Termini from where a short trip on the Metro gets you to The Vatican, Colosseum, Spanish Steps etc. We recommend buying a Roma pass which allows you unlimited use of buses and metro. There are a number of good restaurants, cafes and gelataria near the hotel, with an excellent fish restaurant two minutes down the road. We loved Rome and we loved Hotel Villa Duse and hope to see both again soon!

Room Tip: All rooms will be quiet

Hotel Villa Duse is a little gem located just outside of the city center. It was a nice, quiet break from all the noise downtown. The hotel staff is AMAZING and go out of their way to make everything perfect. The room is very clean and has beautiful marble bathrooms. The complimentary breakfast is delicious- I could have eaten the quiche every morning for days!!!! The only negative was that at night, the room was extremely warm despite lowering the thermostat multiple times. All in all, great stay and would come back again.

I was afraid that I may had made a mistake when I booked this hotel since it was away from center of all the tourist attractions. Yes, we had to pay for transportation, but that extra expense was offset by the more reasonable price of this hotel. We really enjoyed being away from the crowds, the quiet neighborhood, and the opportunity to interact with the locals. We felt like we got to know Rome better by being able to interact with the people who live there. The hotel is in a neighborhood that is really nice to walk around. There is a nice outdoor area to sit an relax. The hotel staff was excellent and very helpful. Eleanora was especially helpful. She gave us a lot of good information and was there to answer all our questions. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

First of all, it is not so fresh as it looks like in pictures, it is rather like in antic shop especially in reception , vintage with according smell. However, very nice staff, a lot of help for getting around, advices etc.
Breakfast - ask for Italian coffee, they will give it with pleasure, otherwise there is only americano for self service. Breakfast is enough and in nice atrium like room.
Rooms are small but all natural materials - stone, woods - not a cheap crap.
Garden is nice, but not wiped etc but they generally in Rome do not bother about perfectly clean and cut area around the buildings, this standard is general observation so can not be fully referred to hotel
I have enjoyed the location - you are away from the crowd with easy access by tram, bus and taxi and opportunity to see the regular life not only tourist and this is what you travel for.. high end restaurants with locals just around the corner

A lovely quiet hotel in a solubrious area in Rome. The staff are helpful, particularly one of the female staff on reception. I asked for a quiet room and on my arrival they got this sorted out for me. A good breakfast. The downside of being out of central Rome is that you need to use taxis, which by UK standards are expensive. Some good, if not expensive, restaurants in the area. I was there for work, so would have had second thoughts if I’d been on holiday.
