I had a very nice lunch here yesterday. I stopped by and had a lovely pasta, some bread, wine and sparkling water. The waiter was friendly and the food was excellent as was the wine. Fantastic!

There are only 2 or 3 choices of pizza and about the same for drinks. They keep it simple and old school here but what they do, they do perfectly. The line is long but the pizza is amazing if you like your pizza thin and without a lot of toppings. If you're in Naples, this is a must go.

The pizzeria is near to Fontana di Trevi in the center of Rome. The name is 'antico' old but the first space of the place is too modern to be in accord with that, nevertheless the second space (not seeable from the main door) is better. A little expensive (60 euros for 4 person, 20 a person, but we have eaten only 4 pizzas and 4 cocacola/beer). the pizza were good. We liked those. The service is basic.

That is ok for a pizza. I suggest that if you are near fontana di trevi otherwise.

The 3 star rating is an average of the food rating and the service rating. Food takes 5 stars since pizza was delicious and one of the tastier ever had. We ordered napolitane (with anchovies) and enjoyed the thin dough which was not crispy (like many roman pizzas) and the flavour of the sauce. Simple ingredients combined perfectly.

Now, service takes 1 star since it is slow and not organized at all. The bad experience begins before entering the place and you may wait long time as many people come here. We waited for 30 minutes when initially were told from the guy in the entrance that would take no more than 10. Service inside communicates with poor english and you can see people that sat after you eating first. Additionally the pos was not working and they informed us about it at the end. What if i didnt have any cash with me guys? Moreover they tried to earn a tip by not giving me proper change .

Anyway, only some steps away from piaza del popolo so it is very close if you are nearby. However it is not a mandatory stop due to the bad service experience. I haven't been to the original in Naples but a local Napolitane guy confirmed that it tastes the same.

This review is for the new Antica Pizzeria da Michele near the Trevi fountain. I’ve eaten in the original world-famous Da Michele in Naples and stumbled upon their new Roman restaurant on a recent long weekend visit. The pizza was excellent, I love Neapolitan pizza and this was as good as the Naples one. Don’t expect a huge menu of exotic pizza, you’ll get a Margarita, Neapolitan or Marinara (this comes without cheese and has anchovies and tomato sauce only).

The pizzas are very large and could easily feed two adults. 8 euros for a Margarita, 10 if you’d like extra cheese. The drinks are reasonable too. If you like real Neapolitan pizza you must visit Da Michele.
