The Il Convento is located bang in the centre of Naples near Toledo metro station. The hotel itself is cosy but noisy. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and i had an amazing trip which covered Naples, Amalfi, Sorrento, Capri and Pompeii using public transport alone thanks to the staff. The included breakfast is good but nothing special, nevertheless for the price paid the hotel was good value for money.
The hotel however is badly in need of double or triple glazed windows if it is to survive.
Situated on a small street, the sounds of scooters taking off in the night on the cobbled roads, the sounds of the street and the neighbouring church bells and services are heard throughout the night. I was too tired after my long trips each day that it did not affect me.
Tips: Speak with the hotel staff Nello, Luca and the two wonderful female receptionists ( I have forgotten their names) on how to get around and what to see.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the main street (Via Sperenzella), Unfortunately none of the single rooms are away from it.

Stayed there for three nights. Lovely location. Walking distance to shopping streets and tourist sites. Can be noisy in the day but the neighborhood is full of character. The front desk is very helpful n responsive. Recommended a few nice restaurants in the neighborhood. Breakfast is basic but good enough

We stayed for a long weekend in mid May 2016, and had the junior suite with roof garden. It's a lovely room, and the facilities are good. The roof garden is private and a sun trap. The staff are incredibly helpful, and recommended places to eat, how to get about, and made reservations for us. The breakfast room provides a wide selection of continental options, and very nice coffee. Try the cake and pastries, they are delicious! I stayed here 5 years ago, and the welcome is still warm and I was so glad I booked again. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Napoli. A short walk from Toledo metro station, so you can be at the Station Centrale in under 15 minutes.

Room Tip: Lively area - plus church bells at 7am and 7.30am

This hotel is above-average compared to other Italian hotels. It offers more updated rooms, nice amenities (in-room safe, tea and water kettle, snacks upon arrival, mini-bar), and attempts at sound proofing. The neighborhood is safe, though many travelers will be taken aback at the first look! The location is great for walking to all sights and the harbor. There are a few decent restaurants in the three blocks surrounding the hotel, so you do not need to be far away from the hotel at night (which is when most people will feel nervous). The main strip of Naples is a short walk and you have many nice shops, bars, and gelatarias to visit.

Although there's nothing wrong with the hotel itself, and the staff are very helpful, I can't give this hotel a higher rating because the area is so noisy. There are streets front, back and sides, and cars and motor bikes thunder by beeping at every intersection. This goes on till late at night. Then at 7 am a chapel in the next block rings its bell to summon the faithful, and half an hour later, just as you're thinking you might manage another sleep, it rings again. And again at 9. If you mind noise, this place is not for you. It's a pity because the location is otherwise ideal.

Dear Guest,
first of all thank you for staying with us.

Our hotel is right in the city centre...the vibrant part of a colourfull and full of life city :-)

That's why it might be noisy, above all for those who come from small and silent countries.

Trying to solve this aspect, that for somebody is a problem, for others is what they're looking for (as you can feel the real Naples) all our rooms come with double glasses and we furnish earplugs for free, in the room.
Anyway we hope you enjoyed our city

Kind regards
Hotel Il Convento
