This was our third time here since this restaurant is located adjacent to B&B Piazza Dante. Nunzia and her family run the cozy operation with Nunzia cooking and supervising. The food is fabulously authentic and although there are culinary staples day in and day out (alici fritte, Neapolitan sausage, etc), Nunzia determines where the menu will head each day. Our spaghetti vongole was superbly al dente and loaded with the tasty morsels.
Unfortunately, the three of us accepted what we thought were meal-included appetizers (which were themselves stunningly delicious). We found out upon receiving our moderate bill that we were charged for the appetizers AND a bottle of wine which we neither ordered nor even hit our table. With only about 5 tables of the ground-level dining space and maybe 6 customers in all (including us) in the place this oversight could have been nothing less than intentional. Further, the waiter (Nunzia's son or son-in-law) did not return with our change.
So instead of creating a scene, we just left, chalked it up to chance, promised to never return, and to write the true events on TripAdvisor with this caveat: even Neapolitan born and bred Mrs. InsiemeSempre can be bamboozled now and then in her city. Beware then, if you do go here, get the English menu and ask questions about what is and what is not included and at what price.
