The Punta del Capo is just down the peninsula from Sorrento proper and this location gives great views back towards town, panoramic coastline, the Mediterranean and Mount Vesuvius in the distance. You could walk down a ways to the rocky beach below. ....

With a little exploration you'll find many good places to take photos along and near the cliffs. This is one of the best and is worth the effort to get there, as the views are probably the most panoramic of the Sorrento portion of the Amalfi Coast. If you're looking for someplace right in Sorrento that's almost as good, try the park at the top of the lift (Ascension) at the end of via San Francisco.

This is a lovely setting to take some great photos. The ocean, the cruise ships, the beaches and Mt.Vesuvius in the distance all make it a hot spot for photographers. Its a lovely place to walk around for a view of sorrento too.

This is a great place to take a photo of Sorrento with all the marine traffic coming and going into the harbors.

I was able to watch an open water swimming race one time when I was there. You never know what you will see unless you look.

great view on a crystal clear day. very restful under the shade trees overlooking the bay. view the large boats, sun worshippers at the base of the cliff, while you enjoy gelato of your choice.
