Easy to find being just off the main Street through Sorrento. Free entry but they do ask for respect with no phones, cameras, photos etc. Beautifully decorated and the ceiling is amazing. Check out the fabulous nativity scene on the left as you go through the main entrance.

My husband & I visited the Cattedrale di Sorrento which is located right off Corso Italia in its shopping district. It is so easy to miss this one because of the way it sits back off the main walk area behind the tall iron gates.

The marble floors & columns are gorgeous. The altars are stunning. The overhead frescos are to be studied and admired. There are stained glass pieces to see plus the numerous art paintings. The wood inlaid sections in the entrance door are masterful and the nativity scene is unbelievable.

If ever in Sorrento, please don't miss this one....breathtaking!

It is easy to walk past this cathedral when walking down Corsa Italia. the frontage is hidden away and the gate can only be seen when walking up from the parallel road. It is closed on a Monday and we did literally walk past it.
WHen you walk into the courtyard the front of the cathedral can be seen and to be fair, looks like quite a few of the other churches in Sorrento. buty when you walk in, it is a different matter. The paintings on teh ceiling are amazing and the altar id=s exceptional.

Visited the Sorrento Cathedral and found it to be stunning. It has wonderful frescoes and a dramatic altar with a crucifixion. Located on the Corso Italia in the heart of Sorrento. Well worth the visit.
