We made the Antiche Mura our base for 4 nights to see the sights of the Amalfi coast. It proved to be a perfect choice, set just off the main square and within a 10 minute walk of the port and the rrstaurants and train station. The hotel was immaculately kept and the staff absolutely delightful. Not the cheapest in Sorrento but superb value for money if you appreciate great service and a degree of comfort. The hotel provides a car service to and from Naples airport which gets you a driver - and personal guide to the region both on the way to and from the airport! Well worth the extra cost. Would we stay there again - definitely.

The hotel has a great location near the bus and rail station and Piazza Tasso. The hotel was very clean and comfortable although lack of rugs and carpet meant echoing! Very quiet at night. Front desk very efficient. Nice little garden and swimming pool. Good breakfast. Lots of very good restaurants nearby. Spent 6 nights here and good value. Loved Sorrento, the people and area!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel if not our time Sorrento. The front desk staff was excellent at every encounter. They booked us a "semi-private" tour to Capri with another couple from the hotel that was not very expensive and well worth the money. They also arranged a car to bring us to the hotel from Naples airport and one to take us to the Naples train station. Both drivers were very professional, arrived on time and did everything expected.
The room was not as large as a room in an American motel but most standard rooms in Europe are not. It had good air conditioning (before the official start of the air-con season), great exterior sound insulation and good interior sound insulation except when children were yelling outside our room door at 11 PM. Where were their parents?
One critic commented on the lack of wash cloths. Use the small towels provided for the bidet, they are a bit large for a wash cloth but they do the job. The plastic cup in the bathroom is a bit tacky but there are glass glasses in the room. Use them if plastic offends you (plastic cups, while inelegant are safer with wet hands).
Breakfast, except for the coffee and orange juice, was fine if unchanging. There was a machine one could use to make fresh orange juice if you wanted it.
Wifi was annoying. Every time you wanted to use it you had to log on again. Annoying but not fatal. Also it was usually quite fast
Would we stay at the hotel again. Sure.

Beautiful bathroom and bedroom was most specious of all the hotels we stayed at in Italy. Rainfall shower head. The staff did everything they could to make our stay great. Nice pool with chairs for sunbathing surrounded by lemon trees. Great variety for continental breakfast. We really loved the sweet Italian man that helped up with our luggage and worked the bar in the lobby.

I have mixed feelings about my stay. They sort of tried, but missed the mark.

Pros:
-Great front desk guys always willing to help and very knowledgeable
-Nice location in the center of town
-great soundproof windows to block out the terribly loud street noise
-internet was great

Cons:
-When i got into my room the bathroom was not clean, used crumbled tissues in the sink and dark hairs in the sink and bathtub. I called the front desk and they sent someone up to clean it, but she was only there for about 1 minute so i know she didn't actually reclean the bathroom like i asked. So i went to the supermarket up the street and bought some antibacterial bathroom cleaner and sprayed down the shower and toilet, i was not going to take any chances.
-The noise from the upstairs neighbors was unbelievable. This hotel spends money on soundproof windows but the actual hotel has such thin walls. I didn't sleep soundly one single night even with earplugs because of the neighbors yelling and banging around at all hours.
-No carpet or rugs in this hotel anywhere, so the hallways and everywhere is really loud, tried taking some work calls during the day in my room and couldn't even focus because of the noise from people talking in the hallways and walking around and the workers cleaning rooms and such.

The inside noise was an issue for me, i like a nice quiet place to work and sleep. I wouldn't stay here again, i would try the hotel next door next time.
