Wonderful welcome by Carmine and Guiseppe. After negotiating our arrival time via email, Carmine leapt up the steps with our suitcases for 'good exercise'! We stayed for 2 nights, the modern room cleaned daily with fresh fluffy towels, great rain shower.
Excellent breakfast with choice of meat, cheeses, eggs, bread, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, cappuccino, juice. We were offered an 8am breakfast the following day as we had to leave early to catch the train (10 minutes walk).
Information about Salerno and surrounding sights were explained, an easy city to explore, we found.
After leaving, we discovered an item we left behind. The brothers have kindly posted it on to us.
Grazie mille!

We really enjoyed our stay at Il Reticolo and our time in Salerno. We spent three nights at this perfectly located B & B and were pleasantly surprised with both the rooms (we had 2 rooms) and the amazing service. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and we knew we were in good hands with Carmine and Giuseppe! The rooms were modern and simple but had everything that you would need. The breakfast was really nice, with a great variety, and our whole family was happy and satisfied. As it was our first time in the charming and underrated town of Salerno, they gave us recommendations for sights and restaurants. It’s an easy stroll from the B & B to the historic district, which is vibrant and full of great shopping and restaurants. You can also easily get to the waterfront -another great place to stroll. We took a day trip to Paestum, which I highly recommend, as well as visiting the castle and the gardens in Salerno. Thank you Carmine and Giuseppe for such a fantastic stay!

After a week-long holiday in Naples and along the Amalfi Coast, my mother and I ended our trip in Salerno and upon arriving instantly regretted not having chosen to stay in the city longer. Salerno is wonderfully less touristy than the rest of the area was during our May vacation. As such, the city seemed much more genuinely Italian - locals were out and about late into the night and the cuisine was exquisite.

Upon arriving at the Salerno train station, we chose to walk, with our two suitcases, to Il Reticolo. The journey was about seven minutes and along a very safe, well-lit pedestrian-only street.

Though the hotel itself is small and the rooms a tad bare, the host Carmine more than made up for any short-comings. He stayed well past regular check-in times so that he could be there to greet us upon arrival with a big smile and plenty of recommendations for dinner that night. He was kind and thorough and never once did his smile leave his face. Carmine is a true gem.

The room itself had a lovely shower, complete with a rainfall shower head as well as a handheld one, and even colorful mood lighting - like a spa. The bathroom was spacious, the suite was impeccably clean and well-lit, and the bed was decent.

What really rates Il Reticolo so highly for us, is the breakfast. Unlike we expected, the breakfast offering was far more than simply a buffet. We were asked the night before about dietary restrictions and informed Carmine of a milk-intolerance. When we awoke in the morning and entered the bright, cheery breakfast nook, we were directed to an adorable table labeled with our suite name (Amalfi), which had set upon it an assortment of Italian meats and cheeses, croissants, jams, Nutella, corn, and fresh fruit. These items had all been laid out on the individual tables so that they were specifically selected for each of the four suites. This was made even more apparent when I found a Vegan scone, Carmine had gotten just for me. Unbelievably sweet. On top of that, Carmine greeted us with soy cappuccinos.

Though we could have chosen to stay at a more luxurious hotel for our night in Salerno, the proximity to the train station, the personalized breakfast, and Carmine himself made our choice to stay at this boutique hotel feel so much more luxurious than we could have imagined.

We cannot recommend Il Reticolo for accommodation in Salerno enough.

The location is excellent, mid-way between the train station and the historic centre. The two young men who run the hotel, Giuseppe and Carmine, could not have been more friendly and willing to help. The décor is very contemporary in style and our room and bathroom were absolutely pristine. We would be more than happy to stay here again.
