Valencia's food market isn't as large as some in other major European cities, but is still well worth a visit. We went quite early so it wasn't overly crowded... also the tour groups just seemed to stand under the main dome in the centre, ie leaving the rest of the market free to easily walk around and view!
You can always find something unique to the area in these markets, and sample regional specialities.
All the food items we saw were beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and the market had a real buzz to it as so many locals were there buying produce... it wasn't just a 'show' market.
A very enjoyable time spent there by us.
