We booked a taxi tour of the rock from the kiosk at the airport. This did not live up to expectations as our driver Ronald Reece was not interested in his job. He stopped the minibus along the way we got out he didn’t explain anything about what we went to see, at the skywalk he just dropped us off and didn’t get out to explain anything about the place same at apes den he just drove past it and left us behind not like all the other taxi drivers who stopped there to explain about the monkeys . He just drove off and said meet him up the hill. Would advise anyone booking not to have him as your tour guide, wait for the next taxi.

I have nothing good to say about the taxis in Gibraltar. We were not able to find a taxi when we first arrived - even at the airport, We called the number and they would not book one, simply saying that they would put a message out and hopefully one will come. The taxi drivers will not take you between places, even if they are not doing anything at that time. Then we found out from one driver that any tourist attraction has to be booked with a 2 hour tour. So the taxi drivers will take you around if you book an expensive tour, but will not drive you otherwise. I have no words for this corrupt system. I hope one day Uber or another ride share system will be introduced to end the monopoly the taxis have in this territory.

I don't normally go for group tours,but our driver Gerrard was fantastic and changed my opinion on this matter! He was informative,funny and made the tour the highlight of our stay.
