Outside of Santiago in the town of San Lazaro, this hotel provides good basic rooms with public bus access to Santiago and the airport. You'd save yourself a walk of about 45 mins to an hour taking the bus. Buses come every 20 minutes per hour. Cost of room around 35 Euros per night, comparable to hotels on the camino route.

Comfortable rooms with great Italian restaurant across the street. Helpful, polite staff. Not many other good options for dining. Walls are thin and snoring can be heard from the room next door. Not a problem if you are already used to snoring sounds from walking the camino.

If you want atmosphere, then the old city of Santiago de Compostela is your best option. This is very much your transit hotel. Either stay here after a long day walking and head out to Santiago first thing the next morning (very short walk), or walk here, dump your back pack, go into old city, attend pilgrim mass and come out to hotel to sleep. The great thing is that the airport bus passes the hotel. Be aware though that the bus can get very crowded as all the pilgrims board it at Santiago. Airport bus costs around 3 Euros. City buses cost around 1 Euro.

Hotel nice, cheap and having all essential things. Located on the entrance to the center approximetly 30 min. walk to the old town and 15 min. to the bus station. In sorrunding few small restaurants, and big shopping mall. There is a airport bus stop just in front of the hotel. I was happy to stay there but on the other hand I was after one week of trekking. The only black mark was a real rooster walking you up at 6.
