Really nice place with several choices for tapas and drinks; can’t really go wrong with any of them. The service was great even with the place being packed!

El Nacional is a beautiful room. A wonderful old industrial building a block or so from Plaça de Catalunya with many options to choose from regarding the type of experience you desire - as in many restaurants under one roof.

I wanted to like it, I really did. We were there twice over a period of 6 weeks and tried both the La Braseria and La Taperia. We chose El Nacional as we had read some positive reviews. I am not sure what was happening on our 2 visits.

The one constant, in my experience, in Spanish restaurants is the quality of the service. Whether it is a small family restaurant in a little village, or a trendy new bar in Madrid, the service is almost always professional, pleasant and relaxed.

Somehow the crew here didn’t get the memo. Best case scenario is casual inattention. Worst case would be the intentional disregard of the restaurant’s guests. (Honestly people, if you are sick and tired of tourists, do not work in a restaurant that caters to tourists.) As for the food, there were some good moments at both El Braseria and El Taperia, but quite inconsistent on both visits. The kitchen is trying and winning sometimes, but the front of the house is doing them a disservice. The kitchen definitely gets higher marks than front of house.

When visiting Barcelona you have so many options available. Do yourself a favor and avoid this one.

This is a fun place to enjoy a market-style atmosphere in a very beautifully designed ex-car park. There’s a variety of dining experiences and bars, it’s a bright and noisy venue in a good location in the city.

The food itself was fine, not great. Service likewise. Personally, I prefer the smaller local restaurants, but this is still a decent place to meet friends and enjoy.

Only open for a year, this beautiful structure that features a horseshoe bar and 5 different food outlets is a must fot first time visitors to Catyluna. We started with the customary tomato spread on toast followed by, jamon croquettes, cod fritters, seafood salad, and the beef tartare. Save room for their wonderful paella of the day. And desserts!
