This was the first time I stayed at an Indigo property. The hotel is located close to the centre of the city, within walking distance to the Sagrada Familia, major department stores and restaurants. It is a unique, themed hotel, with art everywhere, from the lobby to the room, and even in the fitness centre.

The staff was extremely kind and welcoming, and gave me a choice of a room with city view or with the swimming pool. I chose the room facing the swimming pool and gym, which I liked very much.

The fitness centre is small, with one treadmill and three other machines.
The roof is glass, and so if you are spoiled like me, the heat when the sun is shining could be a problem. There was air-conditioning set at 18 degrees, but the centre felt much warmer than 25 degrees.

The bed was very comfortable. I was coming down with a cold, but after a good night's sleep (along with a crash on the couch for two hours), I was feeling much better the next morning.

My evaluation was between a four-star and five-star, but decided with a five-star, given the warmness and hospitality of the staff.

Dear Hoegaarden987,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us!

We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the city to the most thanks to out central location, you loved our cosy décor, our sightseeings and facilities.

On the other hand, concerning the gym, as you mention, it is a room made of glass located in the solarium. It has air-conditioning but maybe one of our guests could have turned it off. We will take into account your advice and from now on we will constantly check the temperature to ensure a good experience.

It has been a pleasure to have you as our guest in our hotel and we look forward to welcoming you soon!

Kind regards,

Javier Escolano

Hotel indigo Barcelona is a moderately priced decent hotel. The buffet breakfast was good. Rooms are average but very clean with chic decor . Location is good. We walked to the case batillo. For the price it is very good.

We stayed here for two nights on the last leg of a two week trip through France and Spain. We have always been happy with IHG hotels in the US so we figured this would be a good choice and we were right. The Hotel Indigo is centrally located in a nice part of Barcelona. We could walk pretty much everywhere, or jump on the Hop on/Hop off buses. We were able to explore most of Barcelona. The hotel itself is very nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to get right into our room, which was pretty spacious. We used the bar for an afternoon beer.

My mum and I booked for a long weekend away in the middle of June. We had booked through Secret Escapes so got a great deal with some extras included such as 10% off cocktails and a complementary bottle of cava.

When we arrived we asked whether it was possible to have a bigger bed - we had booked an queen size. The receptionist staff could not have been more helpful and they upgraded us to a super king sized executive for no charge. We were also told that the room was not ready until 2pm but within 5 minutes they informed us that the room was ready for us.

The hotel room was lovely and once of the biggest I have ever stayed in, with ample room for two people. The rooms are also sound proofed so you cannot hear the busy road below at all. I was also impressed by the black out curtains.

The terrace space was beautiful, with an additional terrace on the roof there was always room to sit in the sun.

The location was fantastic. We could get to the Passeig de Gracia (the famous shopping street) within 5 minutes. It only took 10 minutes to get to the gothic quarter and las ramblas.

I have visited Barcelona three times and this is definitely the best hotel I have stayed in. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a well-priced hotel right in the heart of the city.
