Owner description: The Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is a monumental church devoted to the Holy Family: Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Construction began in 1882, based on plans drawn up by the architect Francisco de Paula del Villar, and Antoni Gaudi was commissioned to continue the project in 1883. The Temple has always been an expiatory church, built only from donations. As Gaudi said: "The Expiatory Church of the Sagrada Familia is made by the people and is mirrored in them. It is a work that is in the hands of God and the will of the people." In 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the site as a minor basilica

I wouldn't say I have a trained eye for architecture but I have traveled all over Europe looking at various churches, some incredibly old (like in Prague) or beautiful (London) but this one blew them all away. I've never seen architecture like this, it's like it came straight out of a Disney movie but it's *real*.

Gaudi is certainly my favorite architect -- and the inside blew me away.

Although Sagrada Familia was not totally built by Guel and although that still some towers are under construction..this is a must see attraction with unique building style different from Gothic style that prevails Europe...ticketing system is very weird..please book in advance and be aware of the visit timing as certain time slots are available and after having tickets you should go within 30 minutes of your time zone..Although website claims that tickets are refundable.. I was forced to buy new tickets and pay for them so that they can refund me the unwanted tickets relying on an email promise..I am waiting foir the refund..take care that those under 30 and students have discounts and there are discounted tickets for 7:15 pm and latter..

Amazing architecture both inside and out. The sight of the soaring columns and the light coming through the stained glass windows inside was stunning.
Always busy. We were able to get tickets for the next day from the tourist kiosk in the local park, but the trip up the tower was sold out, so it may be cheaper and more efficient to book before you go. Morning seems to be the most heavily-booked time.
The audio guide is useful; make sure you listen to the end of each section, as there are unexpected pauses,
If seeing the Sagrada Familia is your main reason for visiting Barcelona, stay in the local Gaudi's Nest apartments, and you can look out of your window at it day and night!

I and my husband visited the famous La Sagrada of Antonio on 17th April 2018. We took 29 euro ticket which covers basic and one tower. As per my suggestion, towers are not worth spending extra 14 euros if you are really not into arts n all . Basic ticket is 15 euro which is fine as basic one is nice wherein colourful light falling through sun rays and you can click pictures inside . Towers are confusing as you are just climbing up .Nothing else
