Wondered back and to through alleys and squares on a Sunday. Saw a political rally, the most amazing flamenco singer and a coin and bottle top collectors market.

The Gothic area is a great place to walk the narrow streets and take in the sights and check out the many small shops and restaurants and as well visit some of the churches in the area. Much more interesting than Las Ramblas.

The Gothic Quarter of Barcelona is an area you could spend a whole week exploring. There is no end to the stores, monuments, museums and areas to explore. We spent a few days just walking around in the evenings and checking out things that seemed interesting. There is a good mix of malls/department stores and small vendors. A lot of people tell you to be mindful of pickpockets in this area, but as long as you stay aware and use common sense you will be fine.

The area has a lovely atmosphere, beautiful sights, and great history. The street musicians are everywhere and five a great vibe to the area.
