Hotel was great, the location is good from Puerto Banus and the breakfast is good. We had a ground floor room which went out into a little terrace which was lovely. Our coffee machine appeared not to be working but after someone attended or room, we worked out it was 2 separate plug outlets which weren’t working.
The gym is small but functional and pretty warm temperature. Parking also wasn’t really an issue. We checked out without any issue and was asked if I had anything that day from the minibar, I said no.
Then checking my credit card balance a few days later, I noticed a charge of €5.25. I emailed the hotel and didn’t get a reply (eventually I did around 36h later) So we were driving past the hotel and decided to stop in. I asked what the charge was at the reception and was told it was a minibar charge.
Being slightly irate, I explained there was nothing taken by myself or partner from the minibar, then has to sign a piece of paper saying this was true and the money would be refunded.
Even though I’m still waiting for the refund, this took the shine off what was a lovely stay. If I were to come back to Puerto Banus I would consider Melia again but have to really think hard. More
