Close to the old town it is set in beautiful surroundings north of the old town. For 3 Euros each we were treated to a wonderful displays of orchids in a tropical environment, with three waterfalls too. Having been to the extensive Cloud Forest and Flower dome in Singapore we knew this wasn't to be compared to that, however they have done a magnificent job in creating something right in the middle of town. It is definitely worth a visit.

With a collection from all over the world, all with their own flowering season, and a carefully controlled atmosphere the concept was to have something new to see throughout the year. It means that any trip at any time is worthwhile but to get the best from the Orchid House you do need to revisit to get the best from it. Take a camera, some of the orchids are stunning and take your time. Many orchids 'hide' amongst the foliage. Allow a couple of hours for your visit. Disabled and those in wheelchairs will have no problems seeing everything there is to see. No refreshments inside but lots of restaurant/bars nearby.
The only problem if you are travelling especially to visit the orchid house is its eclectic opening times. Even the staff are not sure when they are supposed to be open resorting to a scrap of paper stuck in the door. Try ringing 951 51 70 74 to confirm opening times when you decide to visit.

Spent about 5 hours in here one rainy afternoon. The orchids are wonderful, so many different varietes and so interesting. Staff are very knowledgeable and want to share their enthusiasm with you.
Even my 12 & 15 year olds enjoyed it. Well worth a visit - although not sure how hot it gets in the summer!

We parked (for free) on the street right outside the orchid house. There's a beautiful garden sorrounding the house. Admission was cheap, and the kids were really eager to see the waterfall and the fishes. Mom was more interested in the orchids, so the place has something for everyone. After our vist we walked directly through the old-town of Estepona, and down to the Beach.
