Absolutely breathtaking inside and out. We visited at Christmas and were completely blown away with the size and details. You have to go if in Cologne, you cant miss it!

Beautiful cathedral.
Gothic style, very atmospheric
Stand outside the main entrance and look up and up at the twin towers.
A building Germany is rightly proud of.

Amazing cathedral windows inside truly beautiful lovely to walk around so worth a small donation on entry lovely little shop at the back & then on leaving straight into the first of many Christmas markets fabulous weekend.

Beautiful and majestic are the two words that come to my mind. It's huge and beautful from outside as well as inside.
Only disappointing thing is that they do not light it up during the dark otherwise it will be a treat to watch with lights on.

First I went to climb the tower. Was lucky that it wasn’t raining that day. Weird location for entrance, it’s on the side near the WC. Definitely quite a few steps and narrow. Thankfully there are small indentations of areas to rest a few moments. There is a spot to peak out and walk first which displays a massive bell and further up you can finally see outside. Inside is beautiful and I don’t have words to fully describe it. One odd note, there is a lack of outside lighting at night to highlight the gothic exterior.
