The Radisson Blu is perfectly situated near the Bremen Market place as well as popular Schnoor and Schlachte restaurant areas. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the service is good. The breakfast is also good and well worth including in your booking.

We liked our room and the availablility and coverage of the WiFi service very much. Unfortunately the pillows were very large and flat, which made them hard and uncomfortable to sleep on.

The pool area was nice, but the gym could have been a little bit better equipped. There was a bunch of trainers (for warming up and fat people) and dumbbells up tp 20kgs. Still better than the average hotel gym but not good enough. I would have liked a barbell and a rack.

Did not try the breakfast because of the price 18€, went to some of the wonderful nearby cafés instead. But if you are up early you basically have no choice but McDonald's or Döner..
A final plus was the shoe polishing machine outside the elevator. Worked fine and was free of charge!

I liked the hotel and would go back if returning to Bremen.

Family of five that usually enjoy the Christmas travel were we stay at hotels to be together and enjoy the festive around Christmas so none of us has to be working after a year of hard work and stress and just enjoy the time together.
We arrived Monday the 22 th of December to the hotel and got our room that we did pay for months ago.
We did a reservations for Christmas Eve that is our biggest celebration of the year for our family as soon as it came up on their Facebook wall for a buffet, we did this reservation on phone with the hotel, more about that later.
The rooms
one standard room and one business room were we decide to place our grown up kids since they are 3 so we mum and dad had the standard room for ourselves ,
totally normal room that standard room with a tea boiler for coffee and two mugs , in room the kids had they had a espresso machine -hm we went in there to get some coffee now and then.
Noticed the room we had smelled a bit upon arrival, but were turned down of husband and were asked not to complain about the room then.
We already missed one face towel in bathroom on arrival, which did not really matter
We had to ask for two more pillows since the room was only with one pillow for each bed.
Al kind of soap, conditioner etc. was in paper etc., we did only get one soap bar the five nights we were there, when I told my daughter she said I should have thrown it out before leaving room , which I of course should have done instead it was in a plate that filled up with water after each use.
The first morning Tuesday we had a nice maid that actually thanked us for her tipping in the room and had put up al new stuff for us shampoo and toilet paper and even put a small Santa chocolate on our pillows which was a sweet and nice gesture, from then on it went down with the service in the rooms.
No , toilet paper ???
No. shampoo even if we didn’t have any
so we called receptions a lot of times and some days we ask the maid in the hallway at on least two accessions to get more toilet paper.
The expresso machine in kids room did never get filled up with capsules for the coffee.

TV in room
Every time we turned it on is said tell us Your language , so what I thought was that if I just was able to click on the English button I would hear English language , that never happened.
Then we found a button saying we could pay 5 Euro and get al tv channels well we clicked on that button and they still talked German language
Al movies was dubbed to German and no , under texts
Husband and I ended up buying two movies with English language just to hear something else.
I did ask in reception about the TV since I found the button a bit weird , but got the messages back that it was only German speaking except for a couple of English news program , who wants to look at the news al the time under Christmas , not us anyway .
It might sounds like we never left the rooms, we sure did and saw Bremen and areas around, but we did spend the evenings after 9 pm in the room.
Anyway back to Christmas eve
Since we had called and made reservation on phone in English since that is the language we speak best , we do however understand German a bit and made ourselves pretty in our Christmas fittings and went downstairs for our reservation at 6 pm and ladies greeting us then asked us and the name please , which we said, and they had long lists with names , but ours were not on the list and after a quit embarrassing moment for our family and could have been a failure if they didn’t t have room for us . But they said ok , well we can not find it , but You can sit here, ok well I wasn’t to happy with the table looking at the reception and the luggage trolley , but it was what it was and we got good food, so at least that bit was ok .
This is kind of starting to be a long review and well I am bored about saying this is a bit about the language barrier - the hotel itself looks ok and cleaned, but that doesn’t really help when the people working there , can not speak English or prefer to talk German or prefer to neglects to understand English speaking guests.
We ate on several other places when we was staying for 5 nights in Bremen and we got much better waiters speaking English at the other places then here, which we find a bit odd to be a 4 star hotel , we expected it to be top .
The better part about this hotel
is the breakfast is good , the place were hotel lays is very good , it’s in the middle of town and it was few meters from the old town and Christmas market to experience .
They do also have a very good swimming pool and training room , which was a good experience and lovely facility’s there , which we really enjoyed .

Room Tip: We stayed in second floor out to the main entrance and we did sleep well , didnt see so much , might be better to get a higher room floor

Dear mutter38,

first of all thank you very much for being our guests and for taking the time to write this detailed review.

I am sorry to learn that you were not completely satisfied with your stay in our hotel.

I would like to take this opportunity to explain at least the situation with the rooms. The original room types booked were two standard rooms, one with an extrabed. As these rooms are rather crowded with an extrabed inside, we decided to upgrade the room with the third bed to a business room which is more spacious and has some more amenities, such as the Nespresso Coffee Maker.

Regarding your other points, I would like to offer my sincere apologies. Please be assured that this is not our standard and the managers responsible for these departments and our General Manager have been informed to make sure that situations like these won´t occur in the future.

It would be a great pleasure for us to welcome you back to our hotel, not only to prove that we can do better.

On this occassion, I would like to wish you and your familiy all the best for the new year, much sucess and most important: good health.

With kindest regards
