Description: PASSION-Without passion, Tantris would not exist. Taking inspiration from his travels, the passionate gourmet Fritz Eichbauer commissions the building of his dream restaurant in Munich more than forty years ago. Tantris marks the beginning of a new culinary movement in Germany. PERFECTION- The term “Tantris” is derived from the Indian Buddhist culture and symbolises the search for perfection. And a visit to Tantris should be the epitome of perfection: From the seventies-era architecture to the Michelin two-starred cuisine right through to the international selection of wines and the friendly, professional service. ENJOYMENT-Right from day one, the emphasis at Tantris has been on enjoyment. For more than 25 years, the “master of simplicity” Hans Haas has put his unique signature on the cuisine at Tantris: Prepared naturally and simply with the emphasis on flavour. MAGIC-It is the atmosphere that conjures up magical moments. Once avant-garde and today enjoying cult status.

Excellent food, with nice modern touches and the mix of lightness of the cooking combined with excellent German wineparing made it a great dining experience. The only problem is the little stiff atmospere in the restaurant, mainly filled with business people, but if you can ignore it the food is great.

Recently celebrated my husbands birthday here. This restaurant is amazing. From the outside you know you are about to experience something special. On entering we were greeted by the friendliest staff I have ever experienced. Every person took time to speak with us and we had some lovely chats during the night with many members of the team.
The food is actually to die for. Presentation and flavours exquisite. The wine pairings were perfect.
The decor is very unique and very beautiful. Thank you Tantris for an amazing night. Our first and most definitely not our last visit.
The tasting menu was absolutely amazing! The tasting menu (8 courses) was so good. The oxtail essence with gnocchi was one of favorites. How can broth with a piece of pasta be so good? I don't know and I don't care!! Our dinner was about four hours and was a great time with our great friends. I would highly recommend Tantris to anyone who wants to have one of the best meals of their lives.
The price is not for the faint of heart, but it is worth every penny.

We visited the restaurant and were very disappointed. It is below the level of two Michelin restaurants. Very pompous service. An old-fashioned decor of the sixties. Food is tasty but not unique, as is required in a restaurant of this level. We chose wine tastings, which was served sparingly with a measuring instrument, just as you measure a drug for a patient. It is not dignified at such a price and place. The menu is misleadingly written, even for German speakers. You can understand that the tasting menu with wine is one price, and another price for tasting menu without wine. In fact, it is a separate wine menu from the tasting menu. This fact, you learn late when you get the bill. In conclusion, disappointed!, feeling that only your money are interested, in this restaurant, rather than the gastronomic experience. This adventure cost 2000 euros for three persons.

Restaurant had a very distinct identity when it comes to its look. Good and relaxed service, not stiff like you'd expect a formal dining place to be. Food was very interesting! Very unlike the usual expectation of German food (i.e. Sausages, meat, potatoes, etc.)

A bit pricey at €190 for the 5 course menu, plus drinks and gratuity. But definitely worth it for a special occasion.

I’ve had the pleasure of eating at several incredible restaurants in LA, New York, London and Paris but Tantris is the best restaurant. The food is extraordinary, the 70’s decor is authentic and works and Chef Hans Haas is involved in every dish. Unlike so many highly rated restaurants, the staff at Tantris are friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely pleased to help. It is an expensive place so not for everyone, but if you have the chance, go to Tantris, is really is the best.
