Walked through this park a couple of times during our trip to Munich to help find our daughter an apartment for her six month internship.

The park is almost as big as our beloved Golden Gate Park in our home town of San Francisco. I was doubting that it could be as fine as our hometown park but, frankly, I think it might be even better! One of the things that we really liked was it seems a place where people come to socialize over a meal or just a drink. The Germans love their beer of course, and it seems that you can buy it almost anywhere - including the Englischer Garten!

There’s much more than to do than consuming beer and food, however. It’s a superb place for sightseeing, jogging, picnicking, just hanging out or even, believe it or not, surfing...

Our family loved the English Garden in Munich! It was peaceful and beautiful, much like Central Park in NYC.

We wandered by a waterfall, the river where children were playing, teenagers enjoying an afternoon in the summer sun, a handful of nude sunbathers, swans and ducks in a pond, picturesque bridges, and open grass areas. The park offers something for everyone. We didn't have bikes, but it would be an ideal place to ride a bike.

We were very glad to take a break from touring and relax in this lovely park.

This park is huge, bigger than central park in New York. The best way to explore the park is by bicycle, then you can cover most of park. Must sees are the famous Eisbach Wave, where they surf.
You also have two great beer gardens in the park, the Chinese Tower and Seehaus, which is by a beautiful lake. If you visit Munich, the English Garden is a must visit.

It was our last day in Munich and we went to English garden to relax and unwind before the long flight back to Asia.

We rented the paddle boat and went for a wonderful ride around the lake. It was very peaceful and my son enjoyed feeding the ducks.

There was also a nice kids playground which was beside the beer garden. The entire atmosphere was perfect. Kids were enjoying themselves and we get to relax with good food and beers. Totally awesome place to be. Highly recommended.

Its a very nice place to relax, beautiful and refreshing place to chat with your family, friends etc. Its a huge area walkable distance to nearest train station or bus stop.
Enjoy some beer in the bench near the cafeteria.
Even though we couldnt spend much time there, the available time was really refreshing
