“Tiny stairwells and majestic views”
Review of Ulmer Muenster

The 768 steps to the top of the Muenster's central tower was quite the workout especially when other climbers were passing by in the very tiny and narrow staircases. However the intricate detail of the stone work and gargoyles are amazing and so is the view from the top. There are plenty of windows letting in natural light and there are a couple of landings to catch your breath and take photos. There is a very small walk way if you could call it that at the top to get a 360 degree view.
Ulm is a great day trip from Munich by train and has allot of other historic buildings, shopping and cafes. This was my husbands second visit and he was still amazed by the architecture and let's not forget the height!!
You will enjoy the bier and schnitzel after your workout.

The Muenster is breath taking, inside and out. The exterior has so much detail it would take days to see it all of it. The spires are gorgeous, beautiful and ominous at the same time. The inside is incredible, magnificent artwork everywhere you look. Truly awe inspiring. We climbed all the way to the spire gallery, the tippy top, with our five and seven year old. The climb is only for the able bodied and people not scared of heights. You will climb over 780 spiral, steep, steps inside tight corridors that open to exterior walk ways periodically. The last section, to the spire gallery, is extra small, I am over six feet tall and my shoulders almost touch both walls. When people are coming down as you are going up it gets very tight. The view is indescribably beautiful.

Everybody can read on the Internet that this is the highest Catholic cathedral in the World. But only seeing him, I understood what "the highest" means !!! This is simply incredible, the first thought - "this can"t be." :)
I want to see him again!!

Wow what a view, over 700 steps but worth it for the view. Price is well worth it. Lots of narrow and steep steps. Best to be in shape but three are rest areas on the way and you don’t have to go all the way to the top.
