strange really it was clean the bed linen was clean , the breakfast good but i had the feeling that they would not have to spend a massive amount of money to make a difference! old paint cracked, although clean the toilet and bathroom was old and tired , the grouting cracked on the tiles, render in a bad way. that said i would stay here again.

Dear Tony,

We appreciate you taking the time to review your stay.

We are sorry if the room was not to your standards, but we do make small renovations throughout the year and try to maintain this historical building in the best shape possible.

In that sense, we also pick our products very carefully, may it be for breakfast, cleaning or other in a responsible way by encouraging our customers to consume better.

We would love to have you again, as you seem to have had an overall very good experience with us !

Kindly,
Margaux

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Rooms are clean and beds comfortable. Clean bathroom but has a bad smell. The bathroom mirror has normally a light on it but it was broken so I complained to the receptionist if they can fix it but during my 2 nights stay it wasn’t repaired, it’s difficult to put on my makeup in a dim light. I stayed in room 116 in the ground floor. My friends stayed in 118 they have no issue at all .It was very quiet. The hotel is centrally located near the train station and city center. Many Restaurants nearby. We can highly recommend this place to everyone visiting Toulouse its value for money and central location.

Dear client,

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel !
We are glad you were able to make the most out of the location and that the stay with your friends was pleasant.
As it turns out, we needed to order a new piece for the mirror in room 16, so that is why we were not able to repair it immediatly. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you also for recommanding us : we do appreciate when our guests like our service, even when they experienced inconveniences.
We would love to have you again should you come another time,
Kindly,
Margaux

We arrived at Le Clocher de Rodez via taxi from the airport. Don't be alarmed if the meter shows a fixed fare from the start of your journey - this is normal from the airport. The taxi fare was 35 euros plus a 5 euro supplement. Also be aware that some airport taxis don't have credit card facilities so have some cash handy however, there is also an airport shuttle bus that stops right outside of the hotel which is cheaper.

We stayed at Le Clocher de Rodez twice due to its close proximity to the train station (an easy walk with a suitcase). We stayed in room 121 first and then 218 next time. Both rooms were very spacious with spacious bathrooms. Very clean and comfortable with large beds. Room 121 was an inside facing room so was very quiet whilst 218 faced the street and caught a lot of late night street noise however, it did have internal doors that could be closed to reduce the noise. The television settings can be adjusted to different languages.

The location is excellent - very close to the main street and within walking distance to a lot of attractions. Many bars, restaurants and shops close by. There is a small night market right next door which is handy. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Maps were freely available at the front desk.

There is a free city loop bus that stops right out the front - it goes every 15 minutes and takes about 50 minutes - great way to familiarise yourself with the city and to get you closer to attractions if walking is an issue.

The room I had was COVERED in black mold. Due to the mold issue I became extremely ill and ended up being diagnosed with allergic bronchitis. The staff members would enter the room without knocking and the staff was generally unhelpful. Do not trust the photos online. I would have immediately cancelled my reservation after I saw the condition of the room, but the city was extremely busy due to the Rugby 7s series being in town.

Dear Adison,

we are surprised to read your comment about the mold in the room as none of our rooms, after checking with our housekeeper, show any evidence of mold. Moreover, we do not find any reservation in your name on our reservation schedule for the months of October and November, are you sure that you left a notice about the right hotel? In any case, we would love to be able to offer you a better experience than the one you describe here (the staff never enters the rooms without knocking)

Wishing you a great weekend,

The reception

It was a roll of the dice - any mid-priced hotel in central Toulouse would do. Could not have been happier with this choice. The location is perfect: easy seven minute walk from the main train station (Matabieu), and even shorter walks to Marche Victor Hugo, the Capitole, and many other attractions. If where you want to go is further afield, there are city bike rentals (which we took advantage of), a metro stop, and a bus station all practically across the street. And BONUS! the airport shuttle stop is on the corner. Used that at 6:18 this morning!
Our room was larger than many I’ve experienced in France, spotlessly clean, and because it was located at the back of the building, dead quiet.
The front desk staff spoke excellent English, especially Jennifer and Lotfi. And Tess was helpful too.
All that for 75€. We liked it so much, we stayed a third night.
