If you are planning a trip to Toulouse I really recommend staying at the Beaux Arts hotel. The warmth of welcome from the lovely ladies on reception is matched by the comfort and the wonderful individual and original arty rooms. We were in "Monde" - rich orange and black, vaguely oriental designs on the walls; good en suite bathroom, with bath and over-bath shower. The room is not enormous, but adequate - but it's the view, straight out over the Garonne river, that make this such a great place to begin any tour of Toulouse. We woke to watch the sunrise over the river, basked in sunshine during the day (when we weren't' out exploring) and watched the sunset and then the prettily lit Pont Neuf at night. The hotel is literally minutes from the old city centre. Parking is in nearby Place Esquirol...safe, but expensive: we clocked up 54 euros in three days. Next time I might go by train.Breakfast is in the basement - cleverly lit and with a warm ambience; a good selection of fruit, yoghourts, croissants and bread, with cheese and ham. They had also purchased gluten free bread and crackers for me. We will definitely return.
