I haven’t had such a good laugh in years. This restaurant is an experience we will never forget - and never repeat. Each dish appears in turn as a tiny portion of something buried in a bowl of inedibles (a rock, a nest...). An exception was such a tiny item in a bowl of beautiful cherry tomatoes —- which were whisked away, since they were also just for ‘decoration.’ The only recognizable food was a real portion of duck, quite good, the last in the series of plates.
All I could think of was that we were supposed to be impressed by - what? - or else feel like ignorant rubes. Well, my husband and I, both Harvard doctorates who spend our annual vacation in Paris every year, were not impressed, except by the ability this place has to fool so many people. A scam, one reviewer labeled it. Exactly.
