123 Sebastopol was an awesome choice for a hotel, and we couldn't have asked for more. The hotel itself was fantastic, breakfast, tea, happy hour, work out facility, free wi-fi, made even more the better with service that was over the top.....friendliness, helpfulness and cheerfulness. We arrived early in the morning hoping to drop off our bags before check in..and as our room was available, we were able to check in immediately. Uma, the General manager found out it was our anniversary, and provided us a champagne toast. He also made dinner reservations for us at a great, local restaurant... who also provided a champagne toast. The location was perfect....in 3 days we saw the top 15 attractions in Paris and then some. Will definitely stay here again when we bring the family.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel Monday through Friday last week. We couldn't have been happier with the helpfulness and responsiveness of the staff. We tried our very poor French but the staff speaks English so no worries. Our bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The hotel is modeled on the cinema and has very cool décor. The hotel puts out a great selection of goodies and drinks in the afternoon which is complimentary. Plus they restock your fridge with non-alcoholic drinks and water each day which is also complimentary. Breakfast has many choices. One of the best parts is that the hotel is very close to metro and a 20 min. walk to the Louvre area and an easy walk to the Seine. Also walking distance to a number of restaurants and a supermarket. Pharmacy is across the street. Loved the hotel and will be back.

Room Tip: Rooms away from street would be quieter as at any hotel. Only were bothered one night by police sirens. Windows are pretty sound proof.

We stayed 6 days at the hotel and really enjoyed it! The staff was one of the best I have ever encountered anywhere. From the front desk to waitstaff, everyone was always pleasant and kind. No worries if your french is grade school level, everyone speaks english. Shout out to Celine at the from desk, she was a breath of fresh air and answered all our questions. The manager was always available to answer questions and help with your itinerary.
The theme of the hotel is french cinema. The rooms are fun and funky as is the rest of the hotel. We stayed on the 6th floor overlooking the street. Balcony with a chair and a sun room balcony with a table and chair. When the door is closed there is no street noise. AC worked well after a few days. The temperature got a bit warm being on the 6th floor, so the AC was welcoming. Our room was cozy and the bed comfy. Yes, storage is limited but most boutique style hotels are. We managed as there were lots of hooks and shelves to store our things. The bathroom was large enough for two people to get ready.
Afternoon tea with yummy sweets awaits you every afternoon. The bar opens at 6ish and a nice way to start or end the evening with a glass of wine or other spirit.
Breakfast is served in the bar area in the morning, transformed into a lovely buffet. No one will go hungry here. Everything you want is offered and delicious.
Metro stations were close by. We used the metro everyday and it was very easy. The T Marais is walking distance as is other nice areas to eat and shop.I never felt I was not safe here, or anywhere while traveling in Paris. This Hotel is part of a chain that has its act together and we will definitely visit this location or another Astotel again.
To the rest of the staff whose manes I would spell horribly, thanks you for your warm hospitality.

We stayed at the Le 123 Sebastopol for three nights at the beginning of April along with two other couples. The location is fantastic (very close to the Metro); the rooms clean, modern, and pleasantly quirky in design; and Celine (at the front desk), was always helpful, competent, and just downright adorable.

We loved everything about our stay. However, it was after we left for our flight back home that our good opinion took a hit. When we arrived at Charles de Gaul we realized that we had left a small tube with two souvenir posters in our room. We immediately called the hotel from the airport and asked if they could mail the tube to us in the States. They told us that would not be a problem - that they just needed our address and they'd make the arrangements. We understood that we would have to pay for the shipping (which should not have been more than about 20 euros), and were fully prepared to do so.

After a couple of email exchanges, all is good to go - until this bombshell: they want 100 euros to mail us the poster tube. 100 euros???? For a two inch wide poster tube?? Someone there is clearly trying to take advantage of the situation with the hope that we will just cough up the money. There was considerable time spent shopping for these prints, but as the posters cost about 50 euros total we have chosen to just call it a loss.

Now, this may not seem like a big deal to some - but just be warned that if anything goes wrong with your stay, you may not be able to depend on this hotel to deal with it with integrity.

Had selected this hotel carefully and we are really satisfied with our choice! Everything (almost) from check in to leaving bags for a couple of hours after checkout was extremely well executed. Staff was professional, polite, relaxed, funny and easy to communicate with. The hotel decor is to die for, fun solutions to keep the cinema theme throughout.

Our room was one of the best hotel rooms I've stayed in. Two big windows with cute view of the yard (the glass-roofed breakfast room), great ventilation (did not have to use A/C), comfy bed, excellent sleeping quality, good TV and great (free and non-alcoholic) mini-bar. Hooks to hang jackets and handbags on in the hallway (very rare feature, missing in most hotels!), a safe that actually was big enough for our laptop, good shower and spacious enough bathroom for two people brushing teeth at once. One small feature I missed in our room was the option to dim the lights in the bathroom.

About 30 minutes after we checked in, a friendly member of the hotel staff knocked on our door and gave us a letter and a small box. The letter was a welcome greeting and the box contained Easter chocolate! How nice was this?!

Breakfast was really great! The French bread (especially the croissants and pain au chocolat) was so yummy. But if you like something more "healthy", they had darker bread as well. Scrambled eggs, cold cuts, fruit, delicious French quiches, tea and coffee served to your table and you could order cappuccino etc. without extra charge. My favourite breakfast item was the French yoghurt. My only little minor detail that wasn't as good as the rest was a bit of a wait at breakfast before we were offered the tea/coffee.

The hotel has a gym which we did not try, also it is possible to watch movies in a mini cinema in the basement. There is room service and the option of having breakfast delivered to your room, didn't try that either.

The location of 123 Sebastopol is excellent, close to two metro stations with different lines which gives you more options. These are about 5 minutes walk away. And just across the street you'll find a metro entrance but for this you need to have tickets already (easy bought in machines at most stations). Unfortunately, we missed this completely until our last day. If you're arriving via CDG Airport, you can easily walk to Chatelet Les Halles to catch the REP B commuter train which takes you to the airport in about 30 min for 10 EUR. The walk takes about 15 min. The Centre Georges Pompidou is within 10 minutes walk, so is the Notre Dame and the Seine for stunning evening views of the Eiffel Tower. Les Halles shopping centre and two branches of Monoprix supermarkets are also within easy walking distance. The surrounding area is full of restaurants, bistros and cafés of different types.

A good feature of the hotel chain (Astotel) is that every afternoon they offer complimentary "snacks" (tea, coffee, pastries, candy, sodas) in the lobby/breakfast area and if you're a guest at one of the Astotels you can enjoy this at any of the 16 hotels in the city, just show your hotel key card.

I most definitely recommend 123 Sebastopol for your next visit to Paris. I feel torn between returning or trying on of the other Astotels (15 other branches), they all seem really nice. But I will certainly return to Astotel!
