I had a pizza here. Both the food and the service were excellent. The price was very fair for a tourist location.

The food was a big disappointment, the carbonara was poorly made, with bacon instead of porchetta which was chewy, the eggs were like scrambled eggs in the pasta and the pasta was not salted enough. The pizza was too dripping but ok. The cocktail drinks were good.
Overall, it seems that the restaurant was sloppy with the food ,maybe because of the touristic neighborhood.
Food was not great. There was something about my pasta alla Norma that I would define as “strage”. It didn’t taste like the pasta alla norma we are used to in Italy. The pasta had been in the pan too much time and it had become too soft. The pasta quality was not great too, in fact the thickness was too thin. The tomato sauce was worse than the one I used to eat at the school caffetteria when I was a child. The eggplants were good, though they should have been cut in smaller pieces. The Parmesan was not too bad. I would just recommend to cook less the pasta and change the tomato sauce, just to make the meal more enjoyable.
I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but the pasta alla norma is not that hard and I can’t understand how it can be cooked in such a wrong way. I couldn’t even finish the whole plate :(
I appreciated the Italian waitress and the location.
This was on my last night to Paris where I finally made time to visit Monmarte: something I have not done in the many times i visited.
Priority was to climb up the steps to the top but I didn't make it there till about 10:30pm.
Once I did the walking/exploring, it was time to eat. Lots of places around there were closing down but Bella Italia was bustling and welcoming guests.
I ordered the seafood pasta and a few appetizers. It was delicious and was a great way to wrap up my last evening in Paris sitting outside and savoring the view.
I felt energized and charged!
Granted it was busy but what about service with a smile ? Both waiter and waitress rushed and unfriendly . Took ages for veal to arrive and was undercooked .
This restaurant looks nice and inviting on outside but it is pricey, food is mediocre and service is poor. There are lots of better value restaurants around Montmartre.
