Stayed here in August with my friends. Montmartre is our favourite part of Paris and this hotel has a perfect location not far from the Sacre coeur basilica and only a couple of minutes walk from Anvers metro-station.

The staff was very nice and super helpful!! (Special thanks to the lovely gentleman at reception who helped us getting in to Edith Piaf -museum, arranged the airport taxi for us etc.)

The hotel is good value for money, room is basic but clean and comfortable enough if you mostly use the room for sleeping and showering. Even the room was facing the street and we held the window open, it was quiet there. A broken fan was fixed immediately when we told about it at reception (which was nice since it was over +30 celcius in Paris in the time of our visit :)) Nice continental breakfast.

We stayed here as we needed somewhere cheap and at short notice.

We arrived late and were originally given a double room even though twin was booked. This was sorted quickly. Hotel reminded me of tower of terror in Disney, decor and the lift. Very dangerous on the stairs large drops and narrow stairs with very poor banisters or safety barriers. Rooms very old fashioned but clean. Bathroom 1970,s.

Balcony at the windows seemed unsafe.

Perfect for Montmartre two minutes walk away.

Five mins from metro station.

Not that safe at nights. Lots of North African men selling drugs and hassling tourists.

Did not eat at the hotel.

You also leave the key at reception and are simply given a key by mentioning a number, no security really. No safe in room and our room was not locked by the maid.

Would stay again if the same situation cropped up. Desperation to see my team.

1/ The hotel
Our hotel is in very good condition, and the rooms are decorated in a stylish fashion: the wallpapers are from Osborne and Little, a first class British manufacturer, curtains are from Designer’s Guild, another great famous British manufacturer, and the carpet is from famous French manufacturer “Ege”. Our bathroom have … in perfect conditions.
Finally, the security of all our stairs and windows (no balcony) is in strict compliance of all rules and regulation of the city of Paris. We have quarterly and annual reviews of our installations by both public and private inspection companies.

2/Neighborhood
Not true. We are ideally located in a very good position, only 250 yards from the bottom of the Montmartre funicular to Sacre Cœur and the Butte Montmartre. We are also 2 minutes away from the Anvers metro direct from Gare du Nord (which is where the Euro train to London leaves from and to).
This is an area famous for the Impressionist painters and other artists. It is also next to the very lively Rue des Abbesses with the famous cafe where the movie “Amelie Poulain” took place. The neighbourhood’s famous attractions include also the Place du Tertre with its art galleries and museums, including the Dali museum.
It is also a very clean and safe area, actually much cleaner and safer than other parts of the city.
Finally, the hotel is fifteen minutes away from the Arc de Triomphe and the Avenue des Champs Elysées via metro (direct to Etoile), and 20 minutes away from Opera and the Galeries Lafayette.
Ps: We do not appreciate the racist comment about “North African” men in the neighbourhood. As a matter of fact, Paris is a very international city.
3/Hotel security
Not true. Our rooms are well secured. In fact, we have a housekeeper who checks all the rooms and furniture in the hotel and ensure that everything is okay (cleanliness, equipment in the rooms, heater….).
In addition, for all the guests in the hotel, when they go out (to visit Paris…), they leave the key at the reception. This is for 2 reasons: 1) no one else except the guest himself can get the key back and 2) the guest cannot lose the key outside. So the security of our clients is well kept.
Finally, we have a safe at the reception, for all valued items, money and identity cards
Conclusion

1/ Our hotel is modern and well designed and in perfect conditions.
2/ Our stairs and elevator are very secure and in accordance with the city rules.
3/ Our neighbourhood and its safety are one of our most praised qualities.
4/ The security of our hotel, all our guests is well maintained, one of our most important priorities.

we stayed for five nights at the hotel. the location is convenient to the town and metros and shopping places.the hotel staff was so helpful and courteous. but the hotel needs refurbishment so badly....since the hotel is an old building it looks a bit spooky...the stairway is uneven and creeks and gives a spooky effect and the sensor lights takes time to switch on and its a little scary to walk the corridors....rooms and bathrooms need a face - lift...This can convert into a good cozy B & B with a refurbishment.
the breakfast with a change would have been good cause it served the same thing all five days.
we being hoteliers in sri Lanka we expected a little more....

We arrived in the dark and the area looked pretty intimidating but the hotel staff where warm and welcoming and our room on the third floor was clean and functional. The stairs are an adventure, very narrow and steep but as the building is well over a century old they add to the character of the place, I do however recommend you take the small lift if you are going more than one floor up.

The best bit for me was that the hotel is slap bang in the middle of the Fabric district which was unknown to us at the time of booking. If you like to make your own clothes or love to craft this is the place for you (and me because I will definitely be going back) I opted out of day 2 at Disney which is around an hour away by train, to immerse myself in fabrics, sequins and feathers, every shop was an Aladdin's cave and I Oh'd and Arr'd for hours.

The hotel only offers breakfast which was a self service affair of a simple continental nature, there are however lots of Cafes and Restaurants within a few minutes, if you fancy a lively drink and snack there is a vibrant hostel just across the street that buzzes into the early hours, the hotel has a Receptionist 24hrs a day so no need to worry about getting back into your room if you stay out late.

All in all we were very pleased with the Bellevue and will certainly return sometime soon.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper I request a room at the back of the hotel as the street can be a little n...
