My husband I are traveled to Europe for the first time stopping first for a week in London then taking the train to Paris for a week-long stay. We searched many hotel before deciding on the St. James. We booked a Boutique level room but when we arrived to check in, we found that we were upgraded to a Suite (Room 104) and that was a wonderful surprise that made our stay extra special! I almost do not want to post about how wonderful this hotel is because I feel that more people booking here will make it harder for me to get a room in the future!

From the time we pulled up in our cab, we received excellent service! The grounds are impeccable and pristine. The concierge and service jumped to help us with our luggage and had the items brought to our room once we checked in and got settled. The hotel is classy and quaint all at the same time. The concierge recommended a restaurant for us to go to for dinner and he actually called the restaurant for us, got us a table, gave us instructions on how to get there, etc. The restaurant was also fabulous and we had a great first dinner in Paris!

Our Room/Suite was on the bottom floor and it was plush, clean and quiet. There was a small powder room at the entry, a wet bar with mini-fridge, a lovely living room area with couch, chairs, desk and flat screen TV. The bedroom had a large, King size bed, a HUGE closet with cherry wood and a large, clean, inviting bathroom complete with complimentary Guerlain toiletries. Very posh! I asked them for an iron and board because that's me, I hate wrinkles and we had them brought to our room right away. I also realized I had the wrong electrical adapter and they brought 2 adapters to me room in a matter of minutes. Every night there was turn down service with French chocolates left on the bed along with a breakfast menu. Top notch service! They staff went above and beyond for us while we were there.

The day that we were to depart to head to Disneyland Paris for a few days, we requested a private car service to take us there because of all of our luggage. The concierge had it set up for us, took care of the billing and the care arrived promptly. We had a wonderful ride! As well, we had breakfast on site in the restaurant that morning and it was a wonderful selection of eggs, ham, sausage, cheese, yogurts, and of course, breads and pastries. We even got to meet the little cat that lives in the Hotel as he walked through the breakfast area. So cute and sweet!

This location is also approximately 2 blocks from the Paris Metro (Porte Dauphine station) which is amazingly convenient as well as a few blocks away from several cafes, restaurants and of course the Arc De Triomphe. Fabulous hotel, fabulous location, fabulous service. I would return without giving it a second thought!!

From the first time we saw this amazing maison particulaire, we just HAD to stay here! Such a grand entrance, so noble and regal and stunning!
However, the decor on the inside leaves the classical and delves into the very whimsical, I felt as if I was in Alice in Wonderland! The rooms are wildly decorated, with stripes and patterns and mirrors on the window ledges which can be confusing!
I was VERY disappointed that the linen wasn't to par and that there was only a motel like blanket, not a duvet.
The bar has a very rich ambiance, it's easy to sink into a leather chair, sip a cocktail or glass of wine.
The staff is accommodating, yet not totally exceptional with regards to warmth, the concierge needs to adopt a more embracing attitude; we like to be pampered and not feel like we are intruding....The spa was lovely, albeit dark. I had a wonderful facial.
Would we go back? I'm not sure with all the choices in Paris....

Room tip: 501 was well situated

Dear Ms C.,

Thank you so much for giving us a try, we are all very happy that you enjoyed the decor and atmosphere of our house and our services overall. Our concierge Clefs d'Or team, with our famous Christian and Pascal, are praised by most of our guests as shown in countless rerviews here and we are all really sorry you did not feel their eargerness to assist and to offer their knowledge. It is a choice in many hotels not to have duvets by default and offer linen and blankets of luxury brands, however we are happy to install duvets on request if our guests prefer so.
Should you choose to stay again, we would make sure your preferences are taken into account now that we are aware of them.

Yours sincerely,
Laure

We stayed for 6 nights. Loved our room .. 308. Loved the service, concierge was extremely helpful — made us many restaurant reservations. Staff was great. Breakfast was really good. Took the bikes and biked to the Louis Vuitton Foundation. A little bit removed from the main sights but very nice neighborhood.

The whole hotel is like a series of jewel boxes. Our room was compact, well laid-out, and looked like it should be pictured in a book of elegant, old-school Parisian interiors. Ditto our kids' room. You didn't even feel like you were in a hotel -- more like you were in the guest room at the chateau of a fabulously wealthy, old-money family.

Staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. Before our visit they made a perfect restaurant recommendation for us (we don't really know the 16th) and reserved it for us as well.

Breathtakingly expensive, but a great treat for our lay-over night in Paris. The only downside -- which could be an upside for some -- is that it's on the far edge of the sleepy 16th arrondissement

Dear Guests,

Thank you so much for choosing our crazy-chic family home for your visit and for sharing a review on TripAdvisor. We are delighted that you felt the homey environment we want to provide and enjoyed the two jewel boxes we picked for you!
Many guests choose us in order to stay away from the crowds and enjoy the romantic atmosphere of a small country chateau in central Paris. A secret within a 15 minute walk of the Champs Elysées, Trocadéro, Louis Vuitton Foundation, and with many great boutiques and little restaurants nearby.
We all hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you and your family back in a not too distant future.

Yours sincerely,
Laure

I stayed here for work. Although the area is very residential it was about a 15 minute walk to some decent restaurant and bars. I stayed in a below ground room that was very spacious and clearly recently updated. It also had cool art. The bar at the hotel was cool. The propery itself was beautiful. I would totally recommend this hotel for a visit to Paris assuming you were looking for something quiet and out of the action.

Thank you very much for staying with us and choosing to recommend us on TripAdvisor. The Saint James Paris is like an oasis in the city : within a short walk to many restaurants, cafes, shops and sights, but hidden in its garden, exclusive and quiet.
We all hope to have the pleasure of remaining your home when in Paris!
