Are you hip enough to make it past the phalanx of insufferable 20 somethings guarding the gates the restaurant to make it to the reception desk?

If you get a room, are you hip enough to not care what you are paying for the room, you will not be able to sleep until the music stops in the restaurant which will be between 1:30 and 2:00 in the morning but the lively conversation may go on until 3? You will have been told when you called around 11 to ask about it, "This is the Hotel Costes!"

Are you hip enough to get a seat in the dining room, even if an outer ring of purgatory?

Are you hip enough to say this is all constructed BS and there are other better, less pretentious hotels in Paris?

Here are some things they get right:

The rooms are pretty in a brothel-like sort of way.
The food is good, if over-priced.
While you will be kept up by the music and noise from the restaurant, especially if you have one of the inside rooms, unlike many hotels, a reading light is thoughtfully provided, so at least you can read while you are waiting for quiet.
The bathroom amenities are wonderful, generous in size and freely replaced.
Beyond the cooler than thou guards at the gate of the bar/cafe the staff is actually pretty nice and accommodating.
The bathrooms are large and well-appointed.
The location is great.

However, for those who think this is the "true" Parisian experience, I don't think so. It is scripted and created from the moment you walk in the door. An E-Ticket ride of a certain Parisian experience rather than something with the patina of authenticity, but what does that mean anymore anyway?

Room Tip: if you care about quiet, ask for an external room rather than one facing the inside courtyard

This place was outstanding. We stopped in for a quick bite. The food was amazing. Very chic and close to everything, shopping, tour attractions, restaurants ( but eat there), and the Metro. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The service was absolutely terrible and the waitresses were just too rude to even describe it here!
I wouldn't recommend to go to this place to anyone. You can find much nicer places in Pairs. We even thought of leaving the place at some point as the experience was so bad.

This is a place I would never recommend at any time.
Place is gorgeous and food is okay.
I have been there 4 times now because of the amazing terrace, but will never ever come back.
All four times the service was a disaster and waitresses AND manager were so arrogant (even for Parisian, and I am French myself) and so disrespectful. clearly the need to be trained on courtesy and manners unless this is by choice in hiring not having any.
RUN AWAY !

Could not have been more disappointed. The cocktail menu was underwhelming and what was more surprising was the uninterested attitude of the waiting staff and in one case actual rudeness. Maybe the focus was on serving lunches in the outside area, but I'm sorry no excuses !
