If eating is not your kind of interest, just skip this market. It is really for the local to drop by for their daily stuffs. Not those kind of markets for tourist really. Many stalls there look really yummy.

It 's not as pretty as the old town of Colmar with the river and the colorful half timbered houses, but you don't want to miss it. You can escape the sun (or the rain if you are not lucky!) for a while, while tasting local cheese, chocolate, wine and getting some nice souvenirs back home. We enjoyed some tasty tartes flambee on the outside terrace.

The covered market is an indoor facility offering local fare and drinks. We happened to visit during the off season and were thankful to avoid the crowds. Prices are reasonable and the vendors are helpful. We picked up local wine selections as souvenirs.

It's a limited market where you find most of the food (cheese, pastries, vegetables, etc.) that the locals are used to buy. Prices are very honest, but they are not used to tourists yet.

We came here to stock up on cheese and charcuterie with very good providers. Staff were friendly and helpful. It certainly helped that in the first week of January even on a Saturday the market was not very crowded.
