The history of Dublin city is amazing. There are lots of places that are within walking distance from the city center that tell the history in detail

The O’Connell Monument is a large interesting structure serving as a tribute to leadership during the uprising. I was able to see the bullet holes that someone else discussed, you can find out more of the Irish hx and wars during the castle guided tour.
This was the biggest and most impressive of all the statues in Dublin. The black marble accentuated the levels, and made it look majestic. Right in the middle of the street on the river.
This is an interesting statue to see and walk around and appreciate the history of.
It is appropriately on O Connel Street and visible easily from all directions near the statue.
Be careful walking in and around the pedestrian crosswalks as there is busy traffic.
It isn't a must see but I'd still take the time to see it.
A very large statue found at the end of O'Connell Street. Dubliners are really proud of man (hop-on-hop-off guy tells you the history)
The best part is the Irish wolfhound on the base. He's a symbol of loyalty. You will find this statue on the north side of the Liffey River on O'Connell Street.
