The room itself was great and clean. The bed was confortable. We had everything needed in the room such as coffee, tea and water. The location of the hotel is really great and close to the center. I remove 2 stars because of this : the breakfast is expensive for what is given. We must add money to have eggs for instance and the offer is really low, and this is not suitable for lactose intolerance. Only a yogourt and fruits were available as a breakfast, with a weird cake. It would be great to know exactly allergen of each food presented. Moreover, toilets are doing lot of noise, we hear flushing of water all the time and there are too much light in the room, something that I don’t really like while I’m sleeping. We slept well but this was not perfect if we want to consider the all service of the hotel.

I booked a room with this hotel online, everything went good put my credit card information everything is accepted and got my confirmation email. I don’t check my emails on daily basis, its every 2-3days so when I opened my email there is an email from the hotel saying that there is a problem with my card even though I didn’t get any notification from my bank that they are trying to use the cars and the next day I receive an email saying it’s canceled, they didn’t bother to try calling even though I had my phone number available. I call them they want to charge me extra 140£per night for the room plus I asked to talk to the manager but apparently that 5 star hotel doesn’t have a manager available during the day(around 1-2PM). This is unacceptable.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us on trip advisor.

I am shocked that you would be told that we didn't have a manager on duty as we have on 24 hours a day.

If you would like to discuss this further please reach out to me directly at ryan.ritter@theglasshousehotel.co.uk.

Booked off chance via booking.com and what a lovely welcome we received on arrival. Very hospitable staff who offered a glass of bubbly as our room wasnt ready. Was upgraded to a room with balcony view of City. A walk down the corridor to the bar made me realise perhaps I should have brought my slippers.!

Cannot praise staff highly enough. Yes, breakfast is a bit pricey but what do you expect from a city centre hotel. Will def revisit.

This is a beautiful hotel. Modern and stylish as you will see from my photos and at Christmas time I really thought the lobby was very elegant. Rooms are spacious. Sumptuous bed and large bathroom with underfloor heating.

Staff were universally helpful and reception and the breakfast room staff incredibly attentive.

If you are having breakfast the continental at 15 pounds is pricey for what it is. The danish pastries and croissants were fine but nothing to write home about. The smoked salmon which I had with scrambled egg for my cooked breakfast however was excellent and worth the extra 10 pounds.

The roof garden is magnificent and large and has breathtaking views up to Carlton Hill and down onto the city. A great place for a wedding. The snug bar is also beautiful and I still cannot work out how the open fire appears to be burning on water.

Situated right next to the Playhouse and Omni centre and opposite John Lewis and St Mary's Cathedral and 6 mins from Waverly Station on foot.

We booked the lowland suite for a 4 day visit in Edinburgh. Great location in the city and friendly staff. The lowland suite was a great room(suite) with big space, which we enjoyed very much. Big bathtub was used everyday. Views out at the Calton hill. Breakfast was priced at 25£. If it wasn't included, we would have eaten out. Good breakfast, but for 25£ its a no.

Two things we thought were on the negative side: The bathroom was big and nice. But there were lots of minor faults. A lot of cracks in the tiles and the grouting around the tiles. The bathroom didn't "feel as luxury" as rest of the suite.

Number two: A long walk to the room. We have to go 2 floors up, throught the snug bar, for then take the elevator 4 floors down.
