Room offered us was situated INSIDE the active noisy bar of this hotel. The room was offered as an upgrade as our original room was unavailable due to a section of the hotel facing construction being closed which was where our room was originally. No emails or advance notification of this. Our upgraded room literally was inside an active bar. The manager advised us that no other rooms were available for the first night but she could move us the next day. No offer of a reduced rate, a cocktail or even "sorry about this". We switched to the Waldorf Astoria Caledonia that evening.....in the rain. I spoke with Marriott customer care and the management level multiple times requesting some credit as they FULLY charged us for the first night as we were outside the cancellation time line. I made multiple attempts to explain our situation to no avail. I was told that the manager offered us other room options which was not true. A total lack of empathy for a long time loyal client. Not sure what has happened to Marriott but they have lost there warmth and kindness for their guests. They have also lost us as future guests. Stay away from the GLASSHOUSE in the wonderful city of Edinburgh, Scotland. The Glasshouse is not so wonderful.

A long weekend visiting family - we were well looked after by all the staff, rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. Lots of choice at breakfast to suit different tastes.

Reception and concierge provided particularly great service in sorting out our rooms and advice about where to eat. Jonathan (concierge) was especially helpful, friendly and welcoming.

I would really like appreciate the warm welcome and generous hospitality received from miss Barsha. Building seems a bit confusing, However the service received compensated all.
Breakfast staffs were good.
Limited food menu.

I stayed at The Glasshouse in September of 2022. I had a pleasant stay and chose this hotel as I was doing A Marriot Platinum Status Challenge.

- If you want a quiet room, ensure you don't get a courtyard room (3rd floor), especially when they have events.

- The rooftop courtyard is very nice.

- I switched to a room on the 2nd floor, which was nice and quiet but unfortunately, they don't have elevators to the 2nd floor, and it was a long walk.

-Marriott Platinum Status didn't get much, and I had to pay $10 more for a hot breakfast.

- the location was good but not great; it Was about a 15-minute uphill walk to the Royal Mile. It was close to the shopping mall, and next to The Edinburgh Playhouse got to see the Book of Mormon, which was good.

- The staff was nice

-If I had to do it over again, I would stay at The Intercontinental, which is in a better location.

I recently stayed here on a business/pleasure trip for 3 nights.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough - based on location, comfort and style; but, what really makes it a 6 star hotel is the staff. I was made to feel so welcome. Massive shout out to Brian who is an absolute diamond: couldn’t wish for a better host.
