Look to see and do at camera obscura. Preferred walking about in the museum rather than the talk upstairs which was more geared for young kids but still interesting. Worth the money

We had scheduled a bike tour that was cancelled due to extremely high winds, so we ended up here. It is well done, and the actual camera obscura is fascinating. It also gave us excellent views of all of Edinburgh and we learned several things from our camera operator. Our daughters, 13 and 14, really enjoyed our time going through the rest of the exhibits as did my husband and I. It was a unique visit and nice break from castles and museums and worth a look especially if you have teens and tweens.

I took my two teens to this "museum" at the recommendation of the cafe owner where we had breakfast In Edinburgh. We spent a delightful hour+ experiencing the exhibits, many of which were amazing illusions from the 19th century.
It was a wonderful time. Highly recommend.

This was ok but a bit pricey for the time we spent there, we were only waiting in line for a few minutes and got student discount which was nice, it took around 40 minutes to do the entire place as a couple. Tt was full of screaming young kids which made the whole experience frustrating and annoying. It was way too cramped for the amount of people that were in as well. The illusions and things were good and different to see especially the holographic pictures. Definitely appreciate the spider warning for the giant spider picture. Got all the way to the top and it was so warm and full of people rushing about we didnt stay for the "show" but thats fine. Would definitely recommend going first thing and off peak rather than middle of the day, during school holidays/trips and summer.
