Looking for lunch on a day trip up from Dublin, someone recommended George's of the Market. Perched above St. George's Market with ready access to fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and seafood we thought it would be a good choice. We were unfortunately very wrong. A special holiday menu was being served, which seemed to consist entirely of items that can be easily reheated and served along with tasteless (seemingly frozen) vegetables. While the place was almost empty, servers had difficulty remembering what we ordered or to bring requested items (like tea). Rather disappointing to be eating like this so close to the market. Hopefully, this is not the standard for this restaurant.

Upstairs at the market, a waiter service cafe/restaurant which served a great choice of breakfasts from the full fry up to eggs benedict etc. Nab a spot on the balcony to do a bit of people watching. Good food, good service, recommended.

This is a great little place to eat (good food and Bloody Mary) and to watch the people on the market floor below. Had the “all day breakfast” and it was great!! Would go back again for sure

I had brunch here last Sunday. Staff could not have been more helpful and the food was first class. Very busy so be prepared for a short wait. Try to get a table on the balcony and soak up the atmosphere of a great indoor market!

Myself and 3 friend dined here on Saturday. The staff were excellent. We were going to the 'David Bowie Experience' and on entering the manageress was really pleasant and chatty and when we said where we were going she put David Bowie music on in the background. We had one very young waiter who although this was clearly his first job was really helpful and pleasant and friendly. We had a lot of queries and he went out of his way to be helpful and always with a smile. He made a slight error in our order and the manageress gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. One of my friends had the battered fish and she said it was the best fish she had eaten, ever! Would highly recommend Georges and will definitely be back
