Another enjoyable stay but marred by one event.
We ate in the restaurant on the night we arrived and I fancied the burger. I have taken to eating burgers recently as several restaurants we visit do a very good job and I was curious to try the 'signature relish'.
The problem was that the burger arrived with no relish. I pointed this out to the waitress who most helpfully went straight to the kitchen. We thought perhaps there had been an oversight. She returned to tell me that the relish was the pot of mayonnaise that I thought was for the chips. Mayonnaise that had been around a while judging by the skin on it.
I found this hard to believe and the waitress must have sensed this as she reassured me this was the case.
I even went so far as to google burger relish to convince myself that it was not me got it wrong. Some good recipes on google!
It would have been two stars but for the fact that my wife found her avocado salad very tasty and enjoyed it very much.
I still cannot believe this happened- not on Townhouse. Otherwise it would have been five stars - the room was great.

Room Tip: The high grade rooms are excellent we had room 3

Stayed to visit the RST and had a pre-theatre supper. The chef's deputies cooked that evening, and we had an excellent meal expertly cooked. Obviously well trained staff - thanks to everyone.
At the moment I would recommend the scallops and mussels and the lamb.

Popped in around 8.00am before a long walk to see if breakfast was available. Lovely welcome by warm, friendly staff members. Nothing was too much trouble and the Eggs Royale (salmon instead of bacon in my book) was absolutely delicious. Coffee amazing, with proper butter and Tiptree jams. I'll definitely be back - and will need to keep running/walking if this is going to be a weekly indulgence! Good vfm too. Thank you

Lovely place on the sunny side of the street. Central but not too noisy.
Parking arrangement very good value.
Room lovely, but shower room had a few broken components.
Breakfast limited.
When arranging, checked carefully about vegan options, but no non dairy milk on arrival.
Generally felt that a little more attention to detail is required.
