Beautiful hotel in a fabulous location on the quayside.
Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean … but once nighttime arrived, there was a lighting issue.
By lighting issue, I mean there were hardly any lights. And the lights that were there were wholly inadequate!

Dear Shelagh550

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review.

I'm pleased that you had an enjoyable stay however I'm sorry to read that you found the lighting to be inadequate. I will ask my maintenance team to take a look at that.

I do hope that we have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future.

First time in newcastle, we picked this hotel last minute not knowing anything about the area ..we was very very happy with the hotel and location the room was a standard but still fantastic with TV and everything you need for a stay even a fridge. There is a bar and Starbucks on site we didn't visit these but did have our first meal in the hotels chez mal we had the set menu for £20 two courses we had chicken Kiev and its safe to say its the best Kiev I've ever tasted totally worth a visit.

Stayed with my husband at Malmaison on 26th of January. We have stayed here many times over the last ten years, but it was our first visit post Covid, so we wondered if anything had changed.
The lovely man on reception gave us a warm welcome annd nothing was to much trouble, our room on the fifth floor was very comfortable, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud, BLISS!!!
The one thing that’s always the icing on the cake at Malmaison is the wonderful food served up for breakfast in the first floor eaterie, this is only enhanced, and to our delight this morning would once again be so, by the warm and friendly demeanour of the amazing Tessie, I had hoped she would still be here because her jolly personality and smiley face is a great start to anyone’s day, as I told Tessie. She really is the jewel in the crown in the restaurant .
We look forward to a swift return in the very near future. Thanks to all the team for a relaxing night.

Everything was fantastic, and the location right on the quayside meant great views from our room. I especially want to mention Amy and Sophie in the restaurant. I have a significant nut and dairy allergy and they were really helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Also Dave on reception who rescued me when I couldn’t work the heating. Thank-you, we can’t wait to come back.

Room tip: Central location. Parking is in multi story right behind the hotel, just a few steps away. Dedicated spaces for those who have a room booked
