Just returned from the Bank Holiday Weekend. Nightmare drive in, but fast processing on arrival. Usual gated access, possible delays on entry but all good for us. Nice pitch, usual debris from mucky campers, plastic bits n bobs, fag ends, and some steel pins, looked important? Nothing you can blame the site for. Grass cut short, pillar all ok. No TV point but on dog 6 we were high. Idea pitch, but guess exposed in poor weather. The hard standing seemed poor, not compact enough. Our steel pegs pulled out? After poor weather your outfit will be next door. So take super long pegs for this site. We were miles from the dog walk, not all dog pitches are handy to the walk, beats me why. Great kids stuff, seems a paddling pool/beach going in for little ones, else this more a close to or early teen site. Loads to do for them, but just too remote. The bio pool need wet or dry suits as its very cold. Card access everywhere, PITA. Site we laid out, good roads. Wash up ok but only 4 sinks, square, deep, dont drain fast and hard to clean, loos ok but ran out out loo roll and hand wash in the ladies HID says, only saw it cleaned once, showers ok but which numb nuts put the drain down the middle. Since the showers and loos are side by side, there is one loo that has shower water running into it? The basins all flash, but the auto taps dont always work and the flash plugs dont hold the water back. The showers also no touch and time out. cannot adjust temperature? The loos no touch, but you have to touch the handle to get out of the cubical. Dint think there was enough, I didn't queue, but I guess that due the full pillar/pitch set up many showered and loo'd in the van. The auto door opens so slowly you need to go to the loo before you go to the loo. The cafe OK and the Pizzas are good, a few porkies, 20mins wait become 60mins. They struggled to cope Friday night, all arrived late due traffic and thought the same thing. They did get a grip Saturday and Sunday. Loads to do, we got all the activities for free this weekend, but given the advised prices seem value for money. The £20/day charge for a family bathroom is taking the pee. We have stayed on other sites where this is a £5, and we had it for a week:) The Wardens and staff do patrol, and will put a stop to any wild Guitarists etc. I/we will return, but this place can be so much more, it would seem its been devised by someone who has never camped. Which odd as Salop Leisure own it, run and plug their business from it???? 7/10, when its should have been a 10. Don't open another without talking to someone who knows what Tourers want. There are better sites out there sad to say. Work to do guys.

Room tip: You take your own caravan:)

We booked a spur of the moment night away with two teenagers in tow, this could go either way.
But we all loved loved it,the pitches are big with all that you need (water, ehu, light etc) toilets were the best I’ve seen and spotless.
We didn’t use the cafe but all looked lovely.
Wish they had a shop (I forgot a couple of basics, butter and ketchup and no where on site to buy )
My son used the gym a few times and loved it.
Hot tubs were fantastic and really made our stay ( my daughter who doesn’t often venture outside her room has even got some colour )
Pool was beautiful but freezing.
Loved the cinema.
Kids went paddle boarding and water zorbing and enjoyed both, all very reasonable priced at around £6 for 45 minutes.
Dogs loved it,some nice walks.
Ice creams very expensive we bought four and came to £14! It was delicious though.
We tried to book an extra night but the site was fully booked.

Yes there are children and dogs and a bit of noise, but all went quite around 10.30 this place had a lovely friendly atmosphere.

But teenagers wanting to stay longer tells you all need to know.

Now just need to find a date to go back x

Everyone is raving about this new site in Shrewsbury. However, in my opinion it does some things very well and some things are a complete fail- hence my middle score.
The facilities are amazing for families, there are endless things for them to do, from wild swimming, cinema, adventure playgrounds to fishing and the gym. The toilets and showers are excellent and ultra modern. There are dog washing facilities and toilet cassette washing facilities too. The pitches are fully serviced and large. The staff were very friendly.
The downside- we are a middle aged couple with grown up children and the facilities weren't the type we would use, so I felt we were paying for something we wouldn't use.

The pitches had very young bushes planted around them which will take an age to grow up, a bit more money spent on more mature plants would have broken up the area and made it feel less like a car park.
There was no play area for the kids near to the caravans, so you had to have eyes in the back of your head when driving around so no ones, bikes, scooters or offspring were squashed (fortunately we managed not to squash anything or anybody), the play areas were too far away to let the kids go off by themselves, so they were all playing around the vans.
The shop sold dog shampoo but no milk! I could have bought beer but it tends to curdle my tea.
There was no food choice other than pizza, no healthy options, for those of us that put on a stone merely by looking at a pizza.
There seemed to be a lot of "stuff" lying around- empty zorbing balls by the pool, hose pipes, litter etc .
I think what I am trying to say is that they have thrown loads of cash at big money items, but haven't thought about who the caravanning community really are and what they like & need. Style over substance.
If you have children, the place is fantastic- and I would highly recommend it - but for me it was just all a bit irritating!

We arrived a little later than planned but the duty member of staff contacted us and made sure we were coming and insisted we didn’t rush. We really appreciated this.
We were met at the night arrivals bay and given all the details for our pitch and given directions to the local shop if we needed any essentials.
The site is spotless, and well maintained and the toilets are the best we have seen in the 6 years we have been caravanning. Yes there is some building work going on but this didn’t disturb us in any way, even when we visited the outdoor cinema right next to it.
Our fully serviced pitch was at the top of the hill, which can be a bit steep with a buggy etc in tow but it was fine for us. The only issue being there is only one bin point and its opposite reception so you have to walk down or remember to drop it off when your are heading out in the car.
We used the private family room in the toilet block at £20 per day twice. We thought this was a little dear but it was great and allowed us to get the boys a proper bath.
TV signal is very strong and we had strong 4G signal on BT and O2
Our 2 boys (2 and 5) loved the playpark and as its enclosed we didn’t worry about them running off.
We had a flat battery one morning (left coolbox running) and we phoned reception to see if they could help, within ten minutes we had someone at our pitch with a booster to help us.
We used the site as a base for Alton towers (1hr 20mins) and for Thomas land (1hr). We also went to the RAF museum which I would really recommend. Shrewsbury has lots of independent shops and is really good for a wander.
We would definitely come back to this site and would recommend it for all age groups and those with our without kids. It’s a good base for exploring Shropshire and beyond.

Just had 2 nights at this site. Facilities are good though all outside. Staff are very helpful and on the whole it is all very clean. As a couple in our 50s we dont particularly want to party alk night but we do like to have something to do. There is a great pizza cafe on site but everything closes at 8pm then there is absolutely nothing to do you cant even sit outside after 10pm!
There is one very nice toilet block but there are no bins on the pitches you have to walk down to reception.
As a new site it is stills being developed with building work still happening even on the saturday when we were trying to have a drink.
We wont be rushing back its not for us
