First time eating at Cote Brasserie in York, nothing different to Nottingham, Lincoln, Winchester etc etc, it's always good.

All restaurants we have visited have a nice decor and are clean including the toilets.

Only down side is the optional 12.5% service charge, you don't have to pay this just leave what you want to for a tip.

Always a pleasure to visit this chain, and I would highly recommend a try.

Final note our waitress was lovely and had excellent customer service skills.

Is it just me? Waiting staff were exactly what you want, attentive friendly and knowledgeable - but food is brought to your table by a porter clad totally in black who then has to hover before one of the waiters sidles up takes your plates off the tray and gives them to you.
Pretentious I'd say. Food was good but unspectacular and a 90 quid bill with service included.
All a tad so so for me there are better options within the area at less cost and less farty pretentions, sadly not on the return list

Thank Graham G

All the food we had - steak, chicken and fish, was perfectly cooked. There was a great choice of menu. Staff were attentive and cheerful while coping with a busy restaurant and the atmosphere was buzzing. Next time we are in the area we will certainly make straight for this place.

Been to a number of resteraunts in this chain as they are reasonably priced and enjoyed the meal here too.
Very busy and lucky to get a seat as the races were on but service was still great and fairly quick with friendly and efficient staff.Had a table at the front and near the service area but fine as it was a small "booth".Reateraunt opens up at the rear to a large area.
Had a charcuterie plate between us to start and enough for us 2 (smoked duck was brilliant).Piece of salmon each with 3 jersey royal potatoes and asparagus and hollandais sauce each for mains but again enough for us.Plus bottle of wine, one cointreau coffee (brilliant-made in a glass "mug" and one of the best I've had) and servive came to just over £60.
(They charge 12.5% service charge).
