Stayed for 1 night over the weekend for my friend's birthday and our experience was amazing! I was a little worried with some of the recent reviews that the quality of the rooms/customer service may not be up to scratch but I needn't have worried at all! I loved our stay and will definitely be returning again!!

Would definitely recommend if you want to treat yourself to a relaxing time away with a bit of luxury - all without breaking the bank.

Pros:
-All staff were lovely, friendly and always happy to help and they made an extra effort to make my friend's birthday special - really appreciated.

-The spa was amazing. As its summer holidays the pool can get a bit busy but there are periods when it's adult only and it's much quieter. The steam room and sauna are great and we had a massage that was amazing! Very relaxing experience.

- Our room and view was beautiful - we had a superior room with a wonderful view of Tower Bridge and the shard. Generous size, bathroom was clean and decor was lovely.

-Included breakfast was fab - lots of options to accomodate all.

- Fantastic location - tube station right near by but also an easy walk to other London landmarks like Borough Market.

A few MINOR cons (hence the dropped star):
-Leo's restaurant had very few options/dishes and some were quite obscure so may not suit everyone's taste (we did not have the staycation package where I think the dining options were different)

-There were a few items missing from our room e.g. water bottle/slippers/robes because they had run out so might be worth taking your own flip flops for the spa.

-The lifts were very slow and one wasn't working.

-Some of the lockers in the spa changing rooms weren't working/locking meaning there was a period where the spa was busy and all the good lockers were taken so I had valuables I couldn't lock away (but thankfully nothing was taken!).

Can't wait to come back!

Good Morning RheaB148,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, we are glad to hear you found our hotel’s location near the city attractions and tube station fantastic and that you enjoyed the wonderful view of the Tower Bridge and the Shard from your room.

I am happy the bathroom was clean, the room spacious and that you liked its décor.

It’s so great that you found our staff lovely and friendly, and that you enjoyed the breakfast and its numerous choices.

I am glad to hear you found the spa facilities amazing and that you loved the relaxing massage.

We are sorry to hear you found the dinner menu to have limited options, this is due to the impact of the pandemic on staffing, faced with supply chain issues which continues to present challenges for the hospitality industry.

We understand this is disappointing for some of our guests but this is a temporary measure and we will be operating a full service by the end of September.

Thank you for the feedback in relation to the room items, lifts and spa lockers. It gives us an insight about what we have to improve until your next stay.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Jurys Inns and Leonardo hotels in the near future.

Kind Regards

Melisa

Wonderful stay at this excellent hotel. Stayed 2 days in August, 2 parents and a 12yo. This hotel is right next to Tower Hill tube, so was easy to pop in and out during our London getaway. Check in was 4pm, but we wanted to offload our luggage. We arrived at about 10.30 am and saw a short queue. Within a couple of minutes the concierge approached us and happily took our case. After a day of sightseeing we checked in at 5pm. The room was amazing! Exactly as the pictures on the website and we were lucky enough to get an incredible view of the Tower and Bridge. We had 2 Queen size beds, which were very comfortable. Some reviews talk about temperature problems and we like a cold room, so this was a potential issue. However, the air con was on before we arrived and we turned it up. We then found a fan in the cupboard so used that too. I will reiterate that we like it COLD and this was more than sufficient. The room was clean, spacious and relaxing. Any criticism is really nit picking - no shampoo, one socket by the bed didn't work. Nothing that spoilt our stay.

Let's talk about dining..... we got a family staycation dining package (bargain price of £149!). This gave us a free 3 course meal. Choice was very limited for adults - but the food was delicious. Kids menu was more varied and exactly what most kids like. We did have to wait just over half an hour and no-one checked in with us. But we could see staff rushing around, so clearly they were busy. After 6.30pm is a buffet, so that might suit other families more.

We didn't use the pool/gym.

Every member of staff we met were so helpful and friendly. There was always someone at the concierge desk to help and they really do look out for guests to help, they don't ignore you!

The lifts were a little bit irritating. Only 3 cars and one wasn't working. I don't know if this was a COVID thing but we were constantly riding with people just in towels going to and from the pool. A little awkward sometimes!

Breakfast was brilliant, a wide selection of hot and cold buffet items.

We highly recommend this hotel.

Room tip: Use the online check out - it's quick and simple. Click a couple of buttons and leave your key in the room.

Currently staying at this hotel. Booked two "superior" rooms for myself, husband and two grown up kids for 3 nights. Do not be fooled by photos of rooms! My kids room is tiny and ours has large stains on ceiling caused by previous leaks. I've been advised by Duty Manager that only 2-3 superior rooms are like those shown in photos. Windows open as wide as possible and very noisy as beside train station. Air conditioning in rooms does not work and having checked other reviews it appears this is an ongoing issue. We were kindly offered to move rooms on first day but rooms shown weren't much better. Toiletries bolted into the walls needed filled, including hand wash and only one bath towel. Toilet door does not close, never mind lock. Lukewarm shower. Just not acceptable for a 4 star Hotel and will not stay again. Disappointed as this was a special occasion for us. Hotel is ideally situated and right beside tube station, making it easy to travel to places of interest. Spa is also lovely but I feel the rooms and housekeeping element, together with staff never picking up a phone really let this place down.

Good Afternoon Joshieg3011,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay and letting us know of the issues that you experienced during your stay. Guest satisfaction is our top priority and I wish to apologise sincerely for our shortcomings on the occasion of your recent stay.

We are sorry to hear that you found the room not to be of our normal cleanliness standards. Unfortunately, external factors outside of our control have made it difficult for us to deliver our usual standard of product and service. As you have no doubt become aware, the impact of the pandemic, the shortage of available labour, and faced with supply chain issues continues to present significant challenges for the hospitality industry. As a result of these factors, in this instance, we fell short of our usual cleanliness standards and for this I sincerely apologise.
We are working with our housekeeping teams to ensure that this issue does not re-occur and we hope that we can welcome you back to Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels in the near future.

Kind regards
Rezmi.

This hotel is perfectly located by so many stations near tower bridge. We could walk to St Catherine docks in minutes and to the Liverpool Street area, where there is some amazing cocktail places eg Jin Bo Law and Broadgate circle.
The spa is lovely with nice separate hot tub. Nice pool. 5 loungers. Nice treatments. Fabulous gym. Good restaurant, great choices of food. Huge wide selection for breakfast and an omelette station.
The staff were so helpful and went out of their way to make this stay so nice.

Spa a pity no leaflets were available for treatments.
Breakfast was the best we have ever had and I thought the staff were also exceptional.
Loved the reception decor and the bed was very comfortable.
We would have complained about the room as it was very narrow for a family of four, had a view of a brick wall, leaking tap and electrics kept flicking off as needed four hotel cards in the slot to stay on, but they told us hotel was booked out and when we returned to reception 10 people were in the que so we did not bother.
